Tracking steps and floors while biking outdoors

I have the first edition Ionic and for the first time went outdoors and used the bike feature.  I went up in elevation during the ride and sometimes had to get out of the saddle.  The Ionic recorded I ascended 41 flights of stairs during this ride.  I also use a stationary (Peloton) bike and it sometimes counts flights of stairs/extra steps during this as well.

Outdoor biking mine also picks up floors. You are working andbthe airpressure tells the watchnit has gone up so it decides you have climbed floors. Its not true, but you can understand the logic. But unless there is a major barmetric high in your area when you are on your stationary bike I have no idea whay it thinks you have gone up floors then! Perhaps try restarting the Ionic and see if that cuts down you floors. Let us know how you go

Welcome to the Forums @Diller771!

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, in addition to the troubleshoots that @NellyG shared I recommend checking this great article. And I also recommend checking the How do I track my exercise and activities with Fitbit? article.

Let me know how it goes!
