I've got loads of music and mixes on my phone and get new ones frequently. i'm talking straight up mp3 files. Will I be able to send these files directly to the ionic via Bluetooth from my phone (android)? Or is there any other way to get music files from my phone to my watch without wires or apps or a computer? I don't use Pandora or Google music or any of those other stupid music apps so please don't suggest that.

@tomhanks666 @racertempo As @datalore @SunsetRunner mentioned, simply connect to your computer via Wi-Fi and use the Fitbit Connect app on your Mac computer, the Fitbit App on Windows PC, or the Fitbit mobile app for Pandora stations to transfer your favorite tunes to Ionic so you can take them anywhere you go, without needing your phone nearby.

It's my understanding music files will transfer via wifi connection.
Synchronization happens over WiFi anytime you're charging the unit. There isn't any way to side-load music onto the watch itself using USB. For moving your personal music onto it you'll need to use the Fitbit Connect desktop app, which will then sync the files via WiFi to your device.

You'll need to use the desktop app, which will transfer the files across via wifi. I don't believe it works from the mobile app.

That's my understanding as well. I've signed up to be a developer, so I'll dig into the code when they give me complete access to the SDK. I'm excited about the potential of this platform.

It seems like you can't synchronize the files individually via desktop app, it copies files from playlists either from iTunes or Windows Media Player.

so the answer to my question is NO. a computer must be used to transfer audio files to the ionic unless I'm using stupid Pandora pro.

that's even worse news. using either of those progs to manage music files is time consuming as f, and complete overkill to just move a file

Hey,
any succeess? I’m not a developer but was wondering if there will be any way in future to transfer music to ionic from phone. Currently it happening through Wifi and require desktop app, however Pandora allow to transfer playlist through phone app (Fitbit and then in Pandora setting you can choose playlist to add and force sync). This means that music transferring through WiFi either straight from Pandora online (using login initials what been put in Pandora app settings in Fitbit app) or some how through Fitbit app. All this indicates that there is the way to transfer music to Ionic without desktop app. So was wondering if you had a chance to find the way yet ? 🙂

I got frustrated with thiese FitBit reps responses sending folks on a wild search to some articles or manual pages that are snake like the folks behind the responses... If the answer is NO, you cannot download anything without the Desktop App, and creating the stupid playlists, cannot use the Ipad, and have to subscribe to paid services to get music, say so upfront - otherwise you are short lived hochshtaplers.. so it will be your product.

Fitbit this is impossible as your fitbit have the faulty issue that they can never connect to wifi. Since many people complain already about the bad wifi problem and you haven't fix it. You probably don't care about solving thr issue. Don't waste time with trying to connect to wifi
