Tried to install new clock face... stuck on "Switching..."

Brand new Ionic arrived today, like the look of it and was excited to try out some new clock faces. Sure enough, I screw up and the first one I try to install (Colfax Neon) is not free. I have not set up my wallet, nor do I want to pay for a clock face at this time. Now when I go back into the clocks menu it displays the ionic graphic and "Switching..." with the progress bar going side to side repeatedly.

I restarted both the watch (which seems to function fine) and my phone, force stopped the app in Android, unpaired and re-paired the watch, and still no luck. I'm guessing the next thing would be to uninstall the app from my phone, but I'm tired of messing around with this thing.

Any other suggestions? Thanks!

  1. What do you mean by unpair/re-pair the watch?

Unpair means that the watch was removed from the phones Bluetooth list of trusted devices, this is a good step. Pair probably means that the user, through the phones Bluetooth settings setup the Ionic as a trusted device. This step will cause the Fitbit app to stop communicating with the Ionic.

The tracker needs to be removed from the Bluetooth list.

To force stop the app you need to do this through the phones settings/apps/fitbit/stop

Swiping the app out of memory only kills half of the app.

Since your asking about a phone/ionic issue it will be help full to know what phone.

Does the ionic sync the data correctly?

Have you tried a different clock face

Got Stuck the same way, and my solution was to browse for another clock face, then install a new clock face... then reinstall the one I wanted.
