Option to turn off Bluetooth as my iPhone immediately connects to Ionic and prevents me from connecting my phone to my Bluetooth speaker.

You can’t turn off Bluetooth on the Ionic.
However, your phone should be able to connect to both the Ionic and your speakers, as it’s a different Bluetooth protocol

I’m not sure what you’re saying is incorrect but I’m able to connect to my iPhone and my speakers at the same time

Well I guess then if you believe it not fit for purpose you can return it.

I was looking for the same info, I can't really understand why Fitbit is not implementing a switch to turn off BT
I don't want to have a BT radio turned on 24 / 7
I guess I will skip this time too, maybe one day Fitbit will add this feature

still no change I guess? I am just using this Ionic and as you said I don't like it I can't put off the bluetooth. I don't understand why Fitbit does not think about things like this. Give users the choice to put off wifi and or bluetooth. I never had bought this Ionic when I knew that earlier(but ok, my mistake for 350 euro)

Did you not realise pretty much all sync's go via Bluetooth? That's just the way it is.
Find or create a feature suggestion. Here is one you may want.

Bluetooth on, sync, bluetooth off..that's how it has to be.
But seems not possible, ok. Then I stop using it.

On that basis you wouldn’t get any notifications or anything. It would seem the Ionic, or any smart watch, is not what you’re after and yes, you should stop using it and find something better suited to your needs.

not interested in notifications, which I can see on my phone also. And you are right, need to look for something else. No Fitbit.

Not everybody is interested at constant notification, when I'm working I have my phone near me. If I'm out on bike the notification can wait until I stop or get back at my office.
Constant BT sync is just a power drain for the watch and the phone, and I don't really like to have a BT radio on 24/7.
I guess is shouldn't be so difficult to add an airplane mode or a switch for BT
I end up buying an Apple Watch.

?
There is no "constant Bluetooth sync" if you turn off all day sync and always connected. You can have Bluetooth off on the phone until you need to sync your watch. The battery on the watch should last at least 5 days with this configuration (much longer than an iWatch). Yes not having aeroplane mode sucks but you can turn off notifications.

For those of us who still like to wear a watch, but cannot bring a Bluetooth or wifi device into our classified work centers, it would be nice to shut off the signals so we can still count our steps and still check the time during the work day - rather than switching between watches or switching to another brand of pedometer altogether.
Since Bluetooth is always turned on, my Ionic is not allowed in my company's building, and I have to leave the device in my car. From 7am - 4pm, Mon-Fri, none of my steps get counted, and I have since had to buy a dumb watch to wear at work.
I have been wearing fitbit products for 10 years, so it is extremely disappointing to find out I cannot wear them at my new job since fitbit doesn't offer a feature that would enable us to do so. By the way, there are THOUSANDS of us in the same predicament. Some people sneak them into the building illegally (risking their jobs by doing so), but most of us choose to stop participating in the walk challenges we used to do with our friends, and instead, basically wear it for just a sleep tracker. My supervisor wears a Garmin smart watch and he says he can turn off Bluetooth. Perhaps that will be what the rest of us have to switch to... like you recommended to all of fitbit's otherwise loyal customers, "you should stop using it and find something better suited to your needs."

I have the same request.
Please add an option to switch Bluetooth off.
The ionic interferes with my bt headphones. Every 10-30min it pauses the transmission and I have to click play again. Not an issue when I'm not wearing the watch. I guess I could blame the headphones or my phone as well, but those come with options to switch off bt.
Besides, there are several reasons why I would want to switch bt off.
-Battery life
-data security (!!): bt being on all the time exposes my private data (where I exercise, when, health status, etc....) to potentially malicious attacks. Even if unlikely, this should be taken more serious by fitbit.

I just got one of these for a Father's Day gift. If can't use this for work (I can't even have a phone with a Camera on the premisis) then, it looks as if I'll see about getting this returned.

I'm going to have to suggest to the military outlet I bought it from to maybe posting a warning for the possible violation of the current mandate of wearable devices or just stop selling this model.
