Unable to connect Ionic to Bose QCII via bluetooth

My brand new Ionic finds my brand new BOSE QC II headphones but will not pair.I have just spent time with an agent on live chat and tried all the usual things like restart device, turn off bluetooth on all other devices, all the things I have tried at home for the past 24 hours.Occasionally I get a red X notification on Ionic saying "connection failed" but for the most part the ionic just spins in pairing mode until I turn it off.The agent was unable to find a resolution and will speak with a "higher power" and email me.In the interim has anybody else had issues with this and found a resolution?

I received an email and was advised to do a factory reset and let the ionic update it’s firmware.I am pleased to advise that I was able to do this easily and without issue ( unlike last week when it took 48 hrs to update due to the Fitbit outage) My headphones paired within seconds.The only inconvenience is having to reinstall my music but I’m happy a resolution has been found and I can now enjoy all the features that influenced me to purchase the watch to begin with.
