Unable to pair headphones, what's pairing mode

I have tried at least 2 dozen times to pair my Sony wireless earphones with my Ionic. I have not managed to pair them with my Ionic even once.  After I tap "+ New Device", I see "searching" and then "still searching" and then I always get "No devices found".

I've had these earphones for months and they pair very easily with my phone and iPod Nano.

Would love any suggestions.  this is very frustrating as I was hoping to run with my music that I transferred to my Ionic (after much frustration figuring out how to do that) but I have to continue to do my runs carrying my phone or iPod (which I was hoping would stop with the purchase of the Ionic).

Are you in pairing mode with the Beats?  I have the Beats Solo2 bluetooth and it took under 20 seconds to pair to my Ionic.  To put the Beats in Pairing Mode, hold the "b" button on the ear on the left side until the little white light blinks.  You are now in pairing mode and the beats will be discoverable by the Ionic.

Got it. Thanks

Previous posts were very helpful in at least ensuring that Sony wireless headphones are compatible with fitbit ionic, thanks for that. However, it took me a while to figure it out so if anybody else is looking to pair Sony wireless headphones, know that you get to "pairing mode" by pressing and holding the "on" button for 7 seconds. Once you've done that, it connects like a breeze to fitbit ionic. Enjoy!!

Thanks for the input.  I was almost ready to buy another Fitbit but since they are not Bluetooth compatible I’m out.

I was able to pair my Skullcandy Grind headphones to the Ionic in about 30 seconds. I put the headphones in pairing mode by pressing and holding the button until it said "Pairing", then on the Ionic I opened the Settings app, selected Bluetooth, and selected +New Device. The display showed Grind, which I tapped on, and it immediately paired the headphones.

I'll keep them paired until I am able to get the Flyer....

So do you know someone who owns flyers? Can you comment on durability, sound, how they hold in ear.   I have Jaybird freedom buds and both pairs have cracked I returned one pair and super glued the pair I still use.  The sound is good but nothing like the wired  Bose buds.

I just got the flyers.... so far I have not liked them.  They do not stay in as well as my old ones.  I cannot get it to connect to my ionic easily.  It keeps saying searching even though I have loaded the flyers onto my fitbit.  Last night on my run, I went back to my old ipod and headphones as I couldn't get them to connect at all.  Not happy with the price and such with headphones that don't work.

Good deal. I bought a relatively cheap pair of bluetooth headphones and had a horrible time pairing them... Not because of the Ionic or the earphones themselves but because the instructions about how to get into pairing mode were written so small I had to actually use my phones camera to be able to read them...

@KarenRMc make sure your Flyers aren't already connected to your iPhone. I'd suggest turning off Bluetooth on your phone, if it's nearby, during the pairing process.

Try turning off your phone.  Worked for me.
