Hi @fortes welcome to the Community Forums.

Thanks for all the steps that you've tried with your Ionic. You might be having syncing issues due to your phone's compatibility. We're currently receiving feedback about different devices that are not in the list of tested devices. And our team is working hard to add as many devices as they can but In this case, as this model is not there; we can't assure the Fitbit App will be working flawless.

Our best recommendation is trying to sync or set up via computer, laptop, or any other compatible device. You can also try these steps with your phone and give it a try again. Once you're all set up you, you can check this article about music control: How do I control music with my Fitbit device?

Let me know if you have more questions about it. Smiley Happy

nevertheless it does appear paired I just can’t put it active ...:(

i think my phone is good to sync with the device because it’s listed because the J model although it doesn’t specify which and mine it’s a J7 prime !

thank you for your time in advance

I hope to hear from you cos this thing it’s freaking my mind!:)

Hi @fortes, thanks for getting back. My apologies for the delay.

Thanks for the details on your post. This specific model of the Samsung family is not in the list of tested devices with Fitbit yet. Smiley Embarassed

Sorry for the inconvenience, but we need to be really sure that the Fitbit App will be running flawless, before adding it to the official list. If you want we can try a couple steps to see if this is able to connect. First, let's check all the requirements.

Requirements:

  • Phone should be a compatible device check our list of compatible devices
  • Bluetooth service must be turned on
  • For Android phones: to help improve the delivery, go to Notifications and make sure Enable Notification Widget is on. If you recently updated the Fitbit app, reboot your mobile device and try setting up notifications again.
  • Make sure the Do Not Disturb setting on your mobile device is turned off because it prevents the device from sending notifications to your tracker.
  • The software on your mobile device is updated. To check, tap Settings > General > Software Update iOS for Android  Settings > About phone > Android Version.
  • The Bluetooth setting on your mobile device is on. To check, tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  • If you use more than one Bluetooth phone, tablet, or computer to sync, the other one isn't nearby (or has Bluetooth disabled).
  • Your tracker's battery should be fully charged.
  • Also check your phone Permissions and leave location on to keep syncing and getting notifications with your phone, for more info check this suggestions from @ErickFitbitSmiley Wink

If the syncing issue remains with a mobile device I would recommend following the steps below:

  1. Restart your Ionic a couple of times and make sure that it is fully charged
  2. Reboot your phone and check that you phone and Fitbit App is up to date
  3. Open Bluetooth Settings on your phone and delete your Ionic from there (forget device)
  4. Open Fitbit App > Account > Ionic > Remove device (tap on the trash can in the upper right corner)
  5. Reboot your Bluetooth and double check that it is not connecting from there
  6. Force quit the App. Open it again and go to Account > Set up a device

Keep me posted! Heart

Hi
Thank you for your help
I still can’t control my music from the phone thru my ionic but everything else seems to work from day one !
So , i guess , what’s left to work it’s the music management of my phone on the ionic..., isn’t it ?
Thank you

Hi @fortes thanks for getting back. I'm glad to see that you were able to connect successfully your Fitbit Ionic. Sorry for the delayed response.

You can follow this steps to use the Music Control in your Ionic:

  1. If you have an Android or Windows 10 phone, first turn on Bluetooth Classic to control music on your phone. If you have an iPhone, skip to step 2.
    1. Open the Settings app User-added image on your Fitbit device > Bluetooth > Pair
    2. On your phone, navigate to the Bluetooth settings where paired devices are listed. Your phone will scan for available devices.
    3. When you see Classic next to your Fitbit device, tap it.
  2. While music is playing on your phone, press and hold the back button and swipe right to the Music Controls screen. You may see the current track playing or the most recently played track.
  3. You may need to change the audio source to your phone if you previously listened to music stored on your watch. Tap the 3 dots, then tap the phone icon to change the audio source to your phone.

Give it a try and keep me posted.
