Unable to sync Fitbit Ionic - Possible Glitch?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have had my Fitbit Ionic for about a month now (after using the Charge HR for close to 2.5 years) and most days it will sync without issue.  Today however is not one of those days.  I am having difficulty with the syncing to both the iPad and my phone (this also happened one time last week - but otherwise no syncing issues).

However, I think I may have figured out WHY this is happening (but won't know for certain until later today).  On my Fitbit.com dashboard, it shows "Last sync: 2:10pm" - however, it doesn't say "yesterday" like it normally does when it was the day before.  Right now it is close to 11:25am - so I'm just wondering if the app thinks I'm trying to sync data from the past essentially?  I am going to try to sync again this afternoon after 2:10pm and if it works the first try, then I think that is the issue.

Not sure if anyone has reported this (possible) glitch before, but I wanted to mention it in case this is more widespread than just me!  I will certainly post back to this thread if it works this afternoon!

I'm having the same problem.  Says it sync'd but it doesn't show any updates on the dashboard.

Having same issue. The only time it will sync is when it is charging.

My initial theory was wrong - it didn't sync the first time after 2:10pm.  I just figured that was related.  I was able to get it to sync by restarting my Ionic and the iPad.  Hopefully this doesn't become a regular thing - but right now it has only happened twice in 25 days.  That said, we'll see what happens today (as the app is saying I last synced at 6:28pm (with no "yesterday") so hopefully it will sync...

Well, it seems that we have a work-around.  If you plug the charger (with Ionic) into your computer and then sync on your iPad, it works.

However, the iPad the app keeps rotating between "looking for", "sync-ing", and "connected".  I guess I need to turn off All-day Sync.  That might help.

I will have had mine for a week tomorrow. I've had synching issues, auto detect issues, GPS problems, and today it's not detecting my heart rate. The Fitbit support guys/gals have been very responsive and helpful, and I appreciate that, but this constant resets, and app closing and re-opening and phone reboots have really become annoying. After paying a significant amount of $$$ for a "state of the art" product, I shouldn't have to be wrestling with it every day. I'm giving it another few days to see if everything settles in, because I really do like the features, or will like the features once they all work 🙂 but I'm not going to keep fighting with it.
