Unlock with your phone

Hi

got my ionic about a week ago and everything was working well. It appears that I have managed to type my pin in incorrectly and have disabled my watch to phone as I have the “unlock with you phone” message come up.

I have tried everything I could find to rectify the issue

Turn ionic off and then on again

Used the change pin function in my account for it to come back stating change pin fail

turned ph off and on??

can someone help or do I need to uninstall and then reinstall? If I do have to uninstall will I loose my date as I’ve been accumulating it for a few years now.

Cheers

App— ionic— scroll down to device lock and hit that.

Hey Drew,

Thanks for replying so quickly.

i actually used your solution from one of your previous replies to this problem but when I do it it then goes on to say;

fitbit requires Touch ID so I do and then it goes on to configuring tracker, new pin fail

anything else?

ok That’s weird ummmm at any time are you prompted for a traditional pass?

Oh wait now that I think of it if you are only prompted to use Touch ID then try shutting it right off on your phones settings and that should default you back to a numeric pass.

Now as for pass it should just want your 4 digit pin that you set up buuuut I did read that someone had an issue and it needed the phones pin but do not quote me on that one.

If this doesn’t work I am a few hours away from my old iPhone 6 and can try to replicate your issue.

also deleted device, **ahem** down watch,

have you got any other suggestions?

@Just1moreStep in the app ionic - pin - disable. Should unlock the ionic by removing the passcode.

Hi Rich

thanks for the info, can’t find anything in the app that says pin disable or remove passcode???

In any eventuality you shouldn't lose any of your data as it's backed up to your fitbit account in the cloud, its not stored on your device. The device is basically a sensor which transmits data to your phone or in the ionic's case directly to your online fitbit account.

Hi Bilch797

thank you for that info but not sure what you’re referring to???

i have removed device from my phone, turned watch off as I’m not sure how to reset. When setting up the ionic again nothing changes on the ionic.

Hey!

I've been having this issue for a couple of days now, the thing that finally fixed it for me was to click on the wallet icon and delete all the cards in there and then reset my pin.

Hi Barilla86,

i finally fixed it, well to a point that I can use my watch again but I’m a bit iffy on the wallet app.

In the end I had to uninstall Fitbit app from my phone, get rid of all my ph security and then go into the FitBit app on a webrowser selected Ionic settings and deleted Fitbit pay, reset my password for my FitBit app and woo hoo my watch actually showed the time again along with the other stats!

i did try to click on the wallet icon on my watch and it just froze up again so I’d say there’s a glitch there somewhere.

I hope you sort your wallet out and if you do can you give us the heads up?

cheers 😊

I've never experienced the wallet glitch so can't help you there.

Glad to hear that you got your watch working again! Shame it had to take so much effort..

Are you still having the wallet glitch? Make sure that webview is up to date if you're using an android.

I was also in the situation where my FitBit became locked and attempts to reset the PIN failed.  In the end I had to remove all cards from FitBit Pay in order to finally be provided the option in the FitBit App to with change my PIN or disable the PIN.

This user experience is very poor.
