I received a notice that an update was available for the Ionic, but I can not figure out how to download the update.....thanks.

Have you pressed the pink banner at the top of the screen within the mobile app? That should take you to your account where you can see your devices listed. The Ionic should have a pink circle with an arrow next to it, press that to start the update process.
