I managed to update mine through the Bluetooth on my laptop. Might take a few tries but it eventually will go through.

Try restarting the watch. If that doesn't help, see if you have the latest version of the Fitbit app installed.
If all fails, unpair and pair the watch again with your phone.
Last option would be factory reset of the watch.

You may need the factory reset, as I did. I did all the trouble shooting and nothing worked, so they had me factory reset. (FYI, I tried to update over the past 24 hours 8 times). I had to delete device from app, unpair Ionic with bluetooth on phone, reset to factory settings, and set up as new. It finally worked.

Unfortunately, after trying 10 things myself.... the factory reset was THE only thing that pushed the update along and through. If you do it, make sure you sync first so your stats for the day are in the app. You'll lose it, otherwise. You'll lose alarms, settings, etc.

Since I've updated my Ionic to OS 2 firmware I'm having problems with the sync and connection between my Moto Z and the Ionic.
Sometimes my Ionic simply stops to sync and a few hours or days later works again. The same problem occurs with the notifications. I've tried everything, turn on "all-day sync", "always connected" and "keep-alive widget" but still having issues. Also tried unpairing and pair again the Ionic in my Bluetooth options. I'm pretty sure that my bluetooth cx works fine cuz I use my wireless headphones every day.
Also noticed that the problem only happens with Android, I also paired the Ionic with my iPhone and woks just fine, but my main phone is the moto Z. Please help me to fix this.

Is anyone having problems with downloading the new ionic update? Mine has been telling me there is an update for about 2 weeks but when I click the arrow it just flicks to a blank screen and immediately goes back to my home screen. Can anyone help me?

2 weeks worked fine. Promoted update... clock error... changed clock faces 4 times.... exercise app not opening... but was still syncing with phone on app. Tried again today to do update since update remained red!
now after having both phone and Fitbit plugged in... update only half way!
Now does not recognize WiFi router even though I’m sitting next to router
Fitbit face 1/2 face green with symbol in center. I’m at my wits end been at this for 3 days!!!!

I have A NEW FITBIT IONIC DEVICE. Agfter the latest 2018 firmware update
I found that the new “TODAY” SWIPE UP FROM clock face is a 100% FAILURE! It NEVER records a BIKE ride distance that is close to the actual BIKE RIDE. A 12.2 mile ride shows as a 0.43 mile ride on the new TODAY feature. It is totally useless. Also the old SWIPE LEFT from clockface SUMMARY was removed in the NEW UPDATE. It now shows up immediately with no prompting after the ride and it records the ride correctly however it disappears after a minute or so and in unrecoverable. The summary information it reports is exactly what is needed to be recorded on the TODAY feature.
I cannot believe this wasn’t beta tested before the release of the update for the IONIC?

Fitbit coach won’t update no matter what I try & the Fitbit labs clockfaces won’t download.
this is a massive issue considering how much I’ve paid for this device.

After updating to the latest firmware a few days ago, my ionic constantly crashes and restarts. Sometimes 6-10 times a day. I really wish I hadn't updated. Is there a way to revert to a previous firmware?
