Voluntary Safety Recall of Fitbit Ionic Smartwatches

ionic_product.pngFitbit, in conjunction with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a voluntary recall of Fitbit Ionic smartwatches, which the company introduced in 2017 and stopped producing in 2020. The battery in the Ionic smartwatch can overheat, posing a burn hazard.

 

The health and safety of Fitbit users is our highest priority. We are taking this action out of an abundance of caution for our users. We will offer a refund to Fitbit Ionic customers.


This voluntary recall is specific to Fitbit Ionic devices. It does not impact any other Fitbit smartwatches or trackers.

 

If you have an impacted Fitbit Ionic device, please stop using it and visit our webpage where you’ll find:

  • Answers to common questions
  • Information on how to receive a refund 
  • Access to a special discount on select Fitbit devices, bands, and services, if available in your region, for a limited time.

I cannot verify my account... when i try to log in it directs me to Unavailable Website... (sorry that page is following different trial)...

I was on live chat for a bit but couldn't wait any longer.  Have tried to ring but that wasn't successful and have tweeted fitbit uk without joy also.  I understand it's a busy time but we had no warning, so no wonder it's chaotic!

Yes Received a confirmation email with my Verification Code and a Link to get the Discount ? The Link in the email does not Work? Sends me to a Page that requires me to Login, then that page there is a problem?

I was able to complete registration but the next step Verify account, when I click it, it tells me to log in but when I do it directs me to "sorry that page is following a different trail" error. I have no issues logging in to my fitbit account but from that link, it doesn't go through.

it has literally just worked, it must be the amount of traffic clogging up the site. it just stated that a refund will take 3-6 weeks, meanwhile i cannot use my watch

Hi,
I finally managed. My app had never synced with the website. So I logged in
on my Ipad (which I had never used for this watch but only my previous one
- versa2) and I paired my ionic there. I checked the website again and it
had worked. Tried to verify the account and no more messages, all good.
So my advice is make sure your watch is appearing on the website. If not
pair it up again.
