Fitbit, in conjunction with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a voluntary recall of Fitbit Ionic smartwatches, which the company introduced in 2017 and stopped producing in 2020. The battery in the Ionic smartwatch can overheat, posing a burn hazard.
The health and safety of Fitbit users is our highest priority. We are taking this action out of an abundance of caution for our users. We will offer a refund to Fitbit Ionic customers.
This voluntary recall is specific to Fitbit Ionic devices. It does not impact any other Fitbit smartwatches or trackers.
If you have an impacted Fitbit Ionic device, please stop using it and visit our webpage where you’ll find:

I have difficulty understanding why I have no eligibility to claim from South Korea.
After registering the recall as instructed, it shows " Country is not eligible for this process !!! ". on the Account Verification screen.
It makes no sense if this is true.
Fitbit should be making the recall globally if they have a defect on all IONICs sold.

I’m confused here with regards to the comments of sending it back of disposing of the device? I’m in the UK are we being advised differently?

@DonConski This seems to be dependent on where you live. I am in the UK and I was eligible for a discount and have been advised I would also receive a refund within 3-6 weeks. So I have been given both.

@HarpsJ You have to wait a while, or keep trying. It seems as though the website is works right away for some and others are having to keep trying or wait a little longer. I think people are left to just keep trying until someone from Fitbit responds with some clarification.

If you don't get the deactivation e-mail with the discount code and such after waiting for a while, try this link https://myhelp.fitbit.com/s/devicediscount

Yeah, I haven't got a conformation email on the refund either, just a conformation on the website that it would be received in 3-6 weeks after following the steps of disabling the device.
I think that's what the majority of people are waiting for now from Fitbit. I'm UK also, but I think it seems to be the case for multiple countries.

Not working for me I've registered. Twice now with two separate email references. Can Fitbit help and do I get A discount for a new Fitbit?
