Fitbit, in conjunction with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a voluntary recall of Fitbit Ionic smartwatches, which the company introduced in 2017 and stopped producing in 2020. The battery in the Ionic smartwatch can overheat, posing a burn hazard.
The health and safety of Fitbit users is our highest priority. We are taking this action out of an abundance of caution for our users. We will offer a refund to Fitbit Ionic customers.
This voluntary recall is specific to Fitbit Ionic devices. It does not impact any other Fitbit smartwatches or trackers.

When I got a refund on my first Ionic (which burned my arm as I slept) the mastercard was a virtual one. You can use it to shop online but it isn't a physical card you can use in shops or at bank machines.

I’m in the UK and have an Ionic, followed the instructions for the refund but the verification code sent didn’t work, I waited an hour and tried a few times got another code and that doesn’t work either. Anyone had these issues?
also the refund isn’t particularly generous given it cost £300 not $300

Hi I have registered for a refund received an email to say the first step had been completed with a reference number, clicked the link in the email to verify my fitbit account and it keeps saying my code has been used? I don't understand what's going wrong I've had no other emails and it's been 30 hours 🙃

This is not helpful at all😡The verification codes are not working , clearly because there is so many people seeking the refund because of the fault with fitbits product. One user sent a message previously saying it was days before the code they recieved work, which is not good enough. Quite frankly its a disgrace!!!!
And this is only for the first code, not even the code for the discount which there also seems to be issues with, and all this is even before, again, people being told it will be 3-6 weeks before they recieve they're new fitbit. Its a shambles and its wrong on every level, a multi-billion euro/dollar company with zero compasion towards the people that have put them in the financial position that they're in. And zero help from any of the many avenue that are supose to be in place from customer care teams. ABSOLUTELY SHAMBOLIC!!!😡

I waited about five hours and after it not arriving in my email or spam folders, I used this link - https://myhelp.fitbit.com/s/devicediscount - and got my email immediately.

Do you and the rest of the mod team realize that the first post which appears on every page already has this canned information? There are hundreds of posts of poor confused people and all you guys can muster up is reposting the same canned post every few hours? If you can't provide more information, that is fine. But why are you guys reposting the same stuff over and over again which is on the first page which is on every single page (up to page 54 at this moment)of this thread?

I got the code in the email, copied and pasted it, waited more than the 30 minutes(many hours),didnt work..re registered, waited again, many hours again..didnt work.
Iv re-registered many times and waited more than the recommended time and still nothing.
Its a farce to be honest
