Fitbit, in conjunction with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a voluntary recall of Fitbit Ionic smartwatches, which the company introduced in 2017 and stopped producing in 2020. The battery in the Ionic smartwatch can overheat, posing a burn hazard.
The health and safety of Fitbit users is our highest priority. We are taking this action out of an abundance of caution for our users. We will offer a refund to Fitbit Ionic customers.
This voluntary recall is specific to Fitbit Ionic devices. It does not impact any other Fitbit smartwatches or trackers.
If you have an impacted Fitbit Ionic device, please stop using it and visit our webpage where you’ll find:

Yes, I got the same idiot who had to keep asking her supervisor (twice) I am not confident of getting my refund at all... Is there a 90 day time frame to register after the recall notice?

I REPEAT.
In the US they mail you a return kit. It is coming via UPS and mine is supposed to be here on Tuesday. the rest of the world they deactivate it and you self dispose of.

What makes you think she or any of these other mods only pasting canned messages are actually reading anything?

Are you in the US or somewhere else? Which country are you in?

HI
Just started the process for the recall. Step 1 has been done succesfully and the confirmation came by e-mail. Now I'm sitting here for more than an hour and cannot go further. The country can not be changed to the correct one and the verification code is shown as "not valid". Has anyone else had the same problem? What can I do? At the FITBIT-Support Chat I am not getting any answers at all - this is very frustrating. Thanks for help.

It says the discount code will take up to 90 days to be emailed out. I definitely want a new one as soon as possible, did they give you an answer as to the code being sent out?

@Stefan8923Will do. First, I waited 24 hours to get the reference code to work. It never did, so I registered again. Waited an hour after the second registration, then the code worked. I went ahead and used the link someone provided here to get a discount code since I didn't receive an email from Fitbit. I received the email from them the next day with the discount link. The discount code worked on the German store but, when I checked out, I was charged the full amount - 409.89€. So, I went through Digital River Ireland and cancelled the order rather than wait on Fitbit to answer my DM about their error (thank goodness I made screenshots of everything). So I'll wait on Fitbit to DM me back on Twitter to see if they'll provide a new, working code. If not, fine. I'll take my $299. I already have a Sense but just wanted a second one as back up just in case. What a circus! 🙄

Try clearing your browser cache/cookies to get it to show the correct country.

Also I can still access the IonicUpgrade store without a code. I think something is seriously broken? lol

@slhaunz @Thanks for the reply, i take if from ur message that u dont have to purchase another watch from them, and can just get the full refund?? I selected the paypal option so im hoping its just the full refund because i will 100% not be getting anything else from fitbit after this circus, like u so very well put it.
And if the full refund is possible through the paypal option, what is ths situation with the 40% discount can you tell me?if you know that is. Thanks in advance 🙂

Correction Valid for 90 day after you get them which should in a few minutes after you request it if the system is not overwhelmed.

Looks like I've lost my discount then as I logged in to have a look at what was available but having 2 young kids I didn't purchase and had to come out and deal with them.
I assumed from the wording of the email that it was the discount code you could only use once, since it said buy everything at the time as it can only be used once.
This process is a total joke, I went in to see what the prices were to see if I could afford to buy now or if I would have to wait.
How can someone only get one chance to log in when you have no idea what is available and at what price.
@fitbit the processing of this matter is majorly flawed.
