Voluntary Safety Recall of Fitbit Ionic Smartwatches

ionic_product.pngFitbit, in conjunction with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a voluntary recall of Fitbit Ionic smartwatches, which the company introduced in 2017 and stopped producing in 2020. The battery in the Ionic smartwatch can overheat, posing a burn hazard.

 

The health and safety of Fitbit users is our highest priority. We are taking this action out of an abundance of caution for our users. We will offer a refund to Fitbit Ionic customers.


This voluntary recall is specific to Fitbit Ionic devices. It does not impact any other Fitbit smartwatches or trackers.

 

If you have an impacted Fitbit Ionic device, please stop using it and visit our webpage where you’ll find:

Me 2 week or so did not receive any email from fitbit about my refund money

 

All i know now my fitbit can't sync already

It has now been over 2 weeks (including 10 working days) and still no confirmation email.

Yes. The band was already breaking and was the original band. Lasted me about 3 years. I had no use for an already breaking band so I stuffed it in but I did remove it from the "pebble". So, it was the pebble (aka the watch), and the two parts of the band all flat in the special battery shipping thing. I also added some paper padding so that there is no bouncing around which was happening when I tried it. I had not yet sealed the box and so I could crumble some paper to make the envelope from moving inside the box.

I am located in Taipei. have done the recall registration and purchased the sense on 14 March. Yesterday, received email saying the goods is ready for shipment from China. Just now, I got DHL tracking message showing their estimated delivery date is on 6 April.........why does it take more than 2 weeks from China to Taiwan when it is DHL express? So....DHL express is not express anymore????? I need to have this Sense badly.......

I am from India. Has anyone in India recieved the refund? I applied for refund on 8th March. It has been 2 weeks and except the confirmation mail and disabling of my fitbit I dont see anything else happening.

It says 3-6 weeks for refund. No one got a refund yet. Just have to be patient.

I see that a lot of People are impatient, but there is no need to complain before 6 weeks have passed.

But most people received a confirmation that their refund is coming, I've had nothing since my reference number worked. I think I should have had at least one email since then saying it'll be on it's way?

The bands don't need to be returned, and you only need to return the watch
if you live in USA. Hope this helps

Hi! So i just submitted my requested for a refund on my ionic , so i just want to find out the 40% discount code , will it only be applicable on the fitbit.com purchases? If so , it's pretty useless for other users outside of the US as we cannot purchase directly from the site as they don't ship to us 😞 I was so excited to get a new fitbit as i have my eye on the sense however now my ionic is useless and the refund wont be enough in SA to buy a new/other smartwatch fitbit. Is there maybe something else you can offer for users outside the US than the 40% discount code?

I got refunds for my 3 ionics howver only 2 of them got the promocode. If you connect a second one to you account the promocode option has already been used. If only I knew when I did my last one I would have opened a new account ... not very "consitent" by FitBit 😞

I too choosed Google play E Gift..Later I came to know Google Play E Gift cant be cashed out nor used directly purchase any..I have made several calls..mails..So far no positive answer Bro..If you got any latest status..Do let me know..and the pain is..If I contact Twitter nor mail..they ask me to call the Dedicated Hotline number which is also not a local number for India..so we have to spend a huge money while call..and initial 2 calls worked..but now when I try calling +44(0) 20 7570 0343..Its not even getting connected..if I dial in removing the zero and dial as +44 20 7570 0343..its getting connected..but they say its closed right now and work at 9am to 6m GMT time..So I called at 4.30pm India time which is 11am GMT time..But they still mention as closed..Not sure why such a poor response for purchase of Flagship model(Fotbit ionic). Disappointed and waiting for their response still..

They are saying 4 to 6 weeks for refund. They received my ionic 3/16/22

To the best of my knowledge, and I've read about 150 messages on here, no
one has had their refund yet, PayPal or Master card. They say 3-->6 weeks,
but the alert came out on 2nd March, so the minimum 3 weeks is not up until
24th, at least, that's even if they start paying people from 3 weeks onwards
