Voluntary Safety Recall of Fitbit Ionic Smartwatches

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

ionic_product.pngFitbit, in conjunction with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a voluntary recall of Fitbit Ionic smartwatches, which the company introduced in 2017 and stopped producing in 2020. The battery in the Ionic smartwatch can overheat, posing a burn hazard.

The health and safety of Fitbit users is our highest priority. We are taking this action out of an abundance of caution for our users. We will offer a refund to Fitbit Ionic customers.

This voluntary recall is specific to Fitbit Ionic devices. It does not impact any other Fitbit smartwatches or trackers.

If you have an impacted Fitbit Ionic device, please stop using it and visit our webpage where you’ll find:

  • Information on how to receive a refund
  • Access to a special discount on select Fitbit devices, bands, and services, if available in your region, for a limited time.

Hello, I'm the first batch of refund users. When I receive the refund email, I actively cooperate with you to apply for refund according to the process. Up to now, I haven't received your refund method information. I always support Fitbit

This will be my final post. Like I said earlier I received my refund earlier today via PayPal. The next step was to pay off my Fitbit order.  Which I did with my refund money and as of 11:30 PM it has been paid.  I never had to pay one red cent out of pocket. Was never denied anything I was supposed to get.  All in all the process was quick and painless in the 29 days total from beginning to end.  So peace out folks.

I don't know what we Chinese users can do to receive a refund, as if they have no refund method for Chinese users

I am a Chinese user, I like your fitbit product very much, and just bought a new sense, but we Chinese users have not received the information about how to refund, I hope fitbit can provide a refund for Chinese mainland users as soon as possible,I've been waiting for nearly three weeks since I disabled the device, and I haven't received any response

Did this on march 3rd. No discount no email… nothing at all. My watch keeps syncing. I’ve contacted Fitbit support directly. Not helpful.

It seems I have more posibilites to win the lottery than getting an email (let’s not talk about the refund XD )

Hi Diane. I have the same problem, I choosed mastercard debit card as payback method, because I do not have a paypal.

I found out that it is card where they send you the money, but you have to use it, because if not, there is a monthly fee 5.99 dollars if you do not use it for 6 months.

So now I want to change payback method, but Ia do not know how.

this is not good how did you find this out? Did you click the link that says redeem virtual account? When I click the this it asks me to enter a nine or ten digit code from the bottom of my card which I don’t yet have! And what is the redemption code for? I’m so confused!

Keeping Fitbit.

I would have thought, if you run the battery down and loose clock time you
would not be able to set the time again, as you would not be able to synch
with the app surely??

Don't look a 'Gift Horse in the mouth' 🤔 - You have had good usage out of
it for free; being that you will receive the full purchase price back.
Eventually you would have had to accept that the model would be phased out
and/or the Ionic woud expire. If you get five years out of it I would say
it had a good innings😊
