Fitbit, in conjunction with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a voluntary recall of Fitbit Ionic smartwatches, which the company introduced in 2017 and stopped producing in 2020. The battery in the Ionic smartwatch can overheat, posing a burn hazard.
The health and safety of Fitbit users is our highest priority. We are taking this action out of an abundance of caution for our users. We will offer a refund to Fitbit Ionic customers.
This voluntary recall is specific to Fitbit Ionic devices. It does not impact any other Fitbit smartwatches or trackers.

I wouldn't hold my breath.
I called up yesterday after my 6 weeks. The guy said your refund shows as failed on our system. He didn't know why. He then proceeded to ask me to check my spam. I told him id done that numerous times. He then raised a case to say can you please send refund email again. Even though i tried to explain no original refund email was probably sent seeing as it says refund failed on your system.
Anyway I asked how long it would take to resolve. He couldn't tell me.
I called again today hoping to get someone more knowledgeable. Unfortunately the same type of response. We've raised a case, nothing else we can do. Asked for timescales could not give any indication. I asked is it days? weeks? months? He said he had no idea.

I had the best experience with my ionic recall, it took 43 days from start to finish, everything was smooth, only issue I had is the statement says you get a free accessory with each purchased device, but if you read the print in the store only 1 free accessory period, they also only had two sense sports bands available blush and melon wanted black but they don't have it, plus bands are on backorder...

Its been 3 weeks since registration and verifying my account, Device still shows in account, no discount code no refund ..Nothing! so frustrating. Fitbit support is useless just keep directing me to different supports!

I have recently received refund via Virtual Visa card for Iconic recall however I'm unable to activate the Visa card nor able to call Visa card issuer to resolve this issue. Has anyone else experienced issues with Virtual Visa card?

Its been over 6 weeks already for me and they have used one excuse after the other every time I have called. This time the woman continually just said "We are working very hard. You will receive it soon. We are working very hard. You will receive it soon". Theres absolutely no doubt I will be taking the matter further

I had registered the recall and get the reference on March 19.
Please tell me how to find out the status of my recall.
Add: Is the discount coupon only provide in US? I don't see any link can take me to apply the coupon. I am from Taiwan.

It has been almost 2 months or so since my email conversations with various recall emails for the ionic.
I did not receive any response for past few days since the last one.
From Woohoo, Globalintake,
Qwickcilver and even Fitbit Ionic refund email.
I have not received any physical mail.
Could someone please enlighten me.

I am also from India, and affected from this paypal kyc issue. I received an email from paypal on 30th march confirming my refund is received but not transferred to me due to kyc issues. ☹️
I, then cleared it right away, but no signs of crediting it to my account. Paypal is also asking to get it resend by the sender.🤷🏼:male_sign:

Hi, i am try to make a new order in the terms of ionic upgrade. I live in Greece and Greece is eligible for the upgrade. I use the codes that I have acquired before and place in my shopping list what I want to buy. At the checkout stage, the country for shipping address changes automatically to Malta. I change manually the selected country to Greece. Till here everything is OK. BUT the postal code of Greek towns isn't accepted. It seems like the system is awaiting a postal code of Malta. I cannot complete the order. I tried to reach fitbit support but they asked me to contact another company that has the ionic uprgade support. They have though no email nor live chat just a phone to call. That phone number is dead. No reaction at all. What can I do?

Delighted to report I have now finally recieved my registration confirmation and verification and been able to access the discount code and store.Still no refund ss yet but it does state 3 -6 weeks so i guess i will have to just wait and see.I'd recommend perseverance with the process...🙈Ruth -
