Fitbit, in conjunction with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a voluntary recall of Fitbit Ionic smartwatches, which the company introduced in 2017 and stopped producing in 2020. The battery in the Ionic smartwatch can overheat, posing a burn hazard.
The health and safety of Fitbit users is our highest priority. We are taking this action out of an abundance of caution for our users. We will offer a refund to Fitbit Ionic customers.
This voluntary recall is specific to Fitbit Ionic devices. It does not impact any other Fitbit smartwatches or trackers.
If you have an impacted Fitbit Ionic device, please stop using it and visit our webpage where you’ll find:

I did a hard reset without unpairing first. Now my watch keeps giving me a data not cleared red cross. I have tried unpairing and repairing. I've tried switching on and off plenty of times. I've even tried doing a few more hard resets. I've tried pairing to an android and an iPhone. NOTHING! Please help!!! My phone is responding because I keep getting codes to put in but it just won't sync. DESPERATE!

How long does the recall go for? I presume definitely because this issue is for the safety of customers? With that said, can Fitbit please have the latest Fitbit models on offer for the Ionic recall instead of the what's current? In a few months the devices are Fitbit selling will be outdated so it's like 40% off the devices when you can get it elsewhere for the same price that's on promo as clearance items. New devices coming I'm aware of are the Sense 2, Inspire 3 and Versa 4.

@Ursula101 once you apply for the refund, per the article, your Ionic is deactivated, so it's not going to sync.

Still waiting for my refund too although not as long as some people. They state refund within 3-6 weeks….am still waiting and will then advise them I will be going through the small claims court to get my money back and I will if I need to. They are quick enough to take your money but not so quick to refund it seems! It’s the principle here……faulty product, refund offered, applied for refund as advised by Fitbit and then no refund…..as yet🤔😉
