My latest Ionic ( 4th in less than 2 years ) would not sync or even find wifi/bluetooth. I spoke via chat and it was agreed I could send this back for a replacement if it was found to be faulty. It was and they offered a Versa 3 alternative as they cannot supply replacement Ionics anymore. I was a little hesitant to say yes as the Sense is the flagship model now and as such the direct replacement for the Ionic. I looked at the specs of the Versa 3 though and as they are much the same as the Ionic ( on board GPS being the major factor ) I was happy to go with the Versa 3. After replying yes to the email I took a little look on the Versa 3 community page and was horrified to see the amount of HR sensor issues there are with this model ( and the Sense), particularly during exercise, which is one of the features I use a lot. I emailed back asking what sort of warranty/guarantee will come with the Versa 3 and I'm told only the remaining time on the Ionic. This is really disappointing especially as it's yet another FitBit that seems to have a lot of issues. £300 for the ionic that barely lasted 5 months at a time ( 1st had excessive battery drain, 2nd wouldn't sync, 3rd left button stopped working and finally back to no wifi/bluetooth/syncing ) and now I'm getting a lower model with little or no guarantee it will work after 2 months and if it doesn't my only option would be to put it in the bin. Very poor FitBit I shall be looking for a Garmin in the Black Friday sales.
