Walking stride length with walking as exercise

My main exercise is walking, so that is the stride length I need. However, my normal walking stride is different from my exercise walking stride. Which one is set automatically? Where do I set exercise walking stride?

@Martie6, on the Fitbit app, open the Account screen->Activity & Wellness->Exercise->Stride Length, disable "Set Automatically", and enter your data in the fields.

In the Fitbit app, it says that *running* stride will be adjusted. Would the same happen with *walking* stride + GPS?

No the walking stride will not be detected.

The auto setting of the walking stride looks at the users age, gender, height, assumes the user is an average person (Hint: they are not average.) and comes up with a possible stride which most likely will be wrong.

You are right, most people while on a walk have a different stride then when walking around the house

Just to make sure I understand: stride length “set automatically” does not work for walking with GPS.

That is correct @Martie6

They automatic setting for walk assumes, usually wrongly, to much about the user. It strickly looks at the person and math, not GPS
