Been dealing with FitBit for over a month. Sent my 3-month-old Iconic watch for warranty replacement. The watch electronically ailed after a swim, no cracks or physical damage to the actual watch. I would like to know from others if taking over a month for a company to ship a warranty replacement is too long? I didn't send the watch back to China, and we all know there are no repairs available for these electronic malfunctions. I know I am a very reasonable person, and strongly feel I am being taken advantage of. Absolutely horrible customer service, and an unreasonable amount of time I am without a watch. All Fitbit needed to do was send a replacement watch after they recieved my unit. They are finally sending me back a replacement watch, which is taking 7-10 days. I will look at shipment label...and wonder does this come from Asia??

Unfortunately this is the new normal for Fitbit warranty replacement service. Good luck.

So unbelievable. I would complain about Apple products, but at least you don’t get jerked around. I got the response from FitBit “we take feedback of our customers very seriously”. Can you hear me laugh 😂 This warranty issue will make me rethink my consumer choices. It is absolutely unacceptable. I hope I can pursuade one customer to rethink their brand purchase, my karma thinking always serves me well. All I ask as a business is be reasonable & honest, in turn customer return purchase.

Same issue here and they can't send a replacement to my country, I am truly sorry for wasting money on this company. They advertise their product as being waterproof but it took one shower to break the device. I really don't recommend buying Fitbit Ionic.

Took one swim for mine to stop working! Stating the Ionic is waterproof is clearly false advertising! Currently trying the bag of rice trick... Not impressed. If it's not covered, I definitely won't be sticking with them.

To ALL Ionic (and Versa) owners. DO NOT SWIM with this device, the WR50 waterproof rating is a joke for a device marketed for active water sports.
You risk water ingestion even if you wear it in a shower.
Fitbit won't and can't admit the device is unsuitable for water contact. Out of warranty you are on your own.
Any replacement is only warranted for the remainder of the original warranty. You DO NOT get a full warranty on a replacement like many manufacturers will give you.
Keep it away from water!
There should be a sticky at the top of this thread in highlights warning NOT to subject the device to water. That isn't going to happen for obvious reasons though.

Exactly what my Versa before the Ionic looked like after swimming.
Yep, even a shower is a risk.
Many if not most buy these devices because they are marketed as being waterproof for water sports.
SO dissapointing!
A great device if you forget about water ingestion, screen poping up, sticky/non working buttons, electronic faults, battery and firmware issues. Other than those issues - it's a great device!
LOL!
And failing bands.
😊

Currently trying the bag of rice trick...
Unlikely to make any difference unfortunately, as the device is fairly airtight, so the condensation will be unable to escape. You could try warming it in an oven at no more than 45 degrees celsius for an hour or so - but likely no escape for the condensation. And anyway the electronics are likely dead.
