Watch face "Fitface" killed my Ionic, be aware

First of all, I had my Ionic for over a year, so far it works great, and didn't have any problems at all.

Until this morning I install this watch face " Fitface" again. I tried it before, made a sample watch face on their website and try to load it on my ionic, somehow it kept on loading and seems not receiving data from the host. As I see the watch face got updated lately and gave it a try again. This time after it loaded up, the screen turned black and not responding at all. So I tried to install another watch face, "unable to install". I have no choice but to have a hard reset, the Fitbit logo does comes up, then the same black screen again, resetted many times with the same result. Weird thing is, although the screen is not working, the watch itself still tracking my steps and heart rate, and able to sync these data with the app.

Since there's not much I can do in the office, I wait till I got home this evening and try connect the watch using the Fitbit studio. It could connect to my phone but no device(watch) available, so I can't even load up a mock-up watch face to "clean up" my watch.

Last resort, I unpaired my Ionic and try to pair it again with my phone, big mistake. The Fitbit app did found my ionic, but since the screen is " dead",  I'm not able to input the code suppose will show up on then ionic screen.

So now the watch is pretty much dead to me, thinking to wait till the battery is drained and see if it will work again when charged, but I doubt it.

I kind of angry that it seems Fitbit have not much quality assurance on apps and watch faces by third parties, especially like this watch face which depends on it own hosting, which could cause some serious problem like I have. I loved my Ionic and had zero complain about it, until today.

What else I can do? I tried anything I could and open for suggestions.

How can they monitor 3rd party. Your pretty much on you own when you choose 3rd party

Select Fitbit and I'm sure you will not have problems

Fibit has stated they don't directly support 3rd party apps/faces:

Hi,

You have many ways to contact us directly (through the contact developer in the fitbit app or with the contact form on our website) before posting messages in this forum. We always answer to the questions and try to find solutions.

I'm sorry to hear you have issue with our app. I don't think it killed your watch, we have no super powers to do that.

I think the transfert of your design just failed. It happens sometimes when the bluetooth connection drops and we need to improve our UI to notify the user when such problem occurs.

But you can still re-select a design from the settings page and send it to the watch. Everything should be fine then.

And if you really upset with our app, you can still install another face from the fitbit store. We haven't done anything to block the installation of other products.

If even after a factory reset, your fitbit is still black or not working, I'm afraid the problem comes from your device... An app can't modify the operating system, after a reset everything is deleted. You should probably contact Fitbit support for this.
