Has anyone tried this on their ankle? Fitbit, please don't tell me about the inaccurate counts etc. I just want to learn other's experiences. I wearvall my Fitbits on my ankle, the Zip, the One, the Charge, the Flex, the Flex 2, the Alta and the Blaze. The Blaze heart rate monitor was spot on with my doctor's, all of them gave me spot on counts.

@Carmylita I hope you're doing well! It's been a while since you posted this. Have you tried wearing it on your ankle? How does that works for you?
As you mentioned, Fitbit and I wouldn't recommend wearing it on your ankle. I tried with mine and it feels uncomfortable. I also got some inaccurate heart rate readings while wearing it there. Also, it was hard to start an exercise on the Ionic while it was on my ankle. So, that didn't work well for me.
Please share your experience with the Fitbit Community, we'll love to hear!
Keep me posted!

I bought my Ionic on pre order, from the time they updated it, it stopped working. Fitbit told me my warranty was voided, because I tried it on my ankle, they would not help me, so I sold it for just over $100.00. The very next day I started using my Flex 2, it works, but when I went to charge my Blaze it went black and died. Today I opened my new Flex I bought in June, it was dead on arrival, three dead Fitbits within one week! I hope they help you! I went through my bank account over one thousand dollars spent on dead Fitbits two I never had a chance to use. DOA. Go read user reports on Amazon and Best Buy. I bought a Garmin! I think Fitbit needs to look at their own forums and void everyone's warranty who used them on their ankle! This is clearly discrimination! We love on one disability income for two people, to spend that much money and have a devoted customer back stabbed for trying it on my ankle is a crime! I have not had time to set up a new device to this account. It tries to read other Fitbits in the house. I was forced to start new after three years of hard work. I will continue to use my Flex 2 until it dies.

I walk with a walker full time, I have Cerebral Palsy, Osteoarthritis, Osteoporosis, Asthma, and diabetes. In three years and numerous Fitbits all worn on my ankle and steps counted manually it never missed a step, also it is in sync with my doctor's pulse, blood pressure monitor, I check it every time. I have walked 800 miles and 7 million steps, 50 pounds lost and counting. I'm going to keep on going as long as I can. The pulse reader fits perfect in the hollow part of my ankle. When someone with Cerebral Palsy walks one mile, it is the equivalent of four miles. I can't do the exercises on the Ionic. I didn't buy it for that, I needed a waterproof Fitbit, bright enough to see when I sit down. It met my needs.

I tried my Ionic on my ankle just for interest and found it too big to be comfortable, but I think it counted OK. I have a pretty skinny ankle so just used a large strap.

At basketball games, as you would expect, nothing is allowed to be worn on wrists. What I do is remove the straps and place the tracker in my socks as I fold it down a few times, so that the tracker sits on the inside of my ankle.
Doesn't track HR of course, but still counts steps and if you position it right, you don't notice it's there at all.

@highon2str I hope you're doing well! Thanks for taking the time to post on this thread sharing your experience with Ionic while playing basketball.
I'm glad you found a way to be able to track your steps while playing basketball. Something else you can do in that case is to log your activity manually after doing the exercise. This option should give you accurate data for the exercise too.
Try this option and let me know how it goes!

I had an extra older strap for my Fitbit that no longer worked something wrong with the pins where it connects to the watch. I cut off the part where it connects to the watch from this old band and used this modified strap as an extender to make my strap longer when I wear in my ankle.
