Weather on Ionic switched to Celsius

I just noticed last week that the weather on my Ionic had switched ti Celsius.  It has always been Fahrenheit.  I can't find anywhere to switch it back.  When I google it....all I can find is that if you are set on kilometers, the weather will switch to Celsius....but I am set in miles, pounds, etc.  Anyone else have this issue?  How can I fix it?

Welcome on board @Earthen, it's nice to see you here! Smiley Very Happy Have you tried what @WavyDavey recommended?

If you're still having trouble, let's try the following:

  1. Open the Fitbit app.
  2. Tap the icon in the upper right corner to go to the account settings.
  3. Tap on Ionic in the list of devices.
  4. Tap on "Apps".
  5. Tap on the settings cog next to "Weather".
  6. The first thing listed should be "Temperature Unit", so tap on that row (where it says "Celsius")
  7. Tap on "Fahrenheit"
  8. Tap "Done"
  9. Tap "Back" in the upper left corner
  10. Tap "Ionic" in the upper left corner
  11. Make sure your phone synced the new setting to your tracker by verifying the sync time is shortly before the current time. If not, you'll need to manually sync (scroll down and tap "Sync Now").
  12. Verify you see the temperature in Fahrenheit now.

HI @Earthen.

Try this. Go to fitbit.com, then dashboard, then click the gear icon, then settings. You'll be able to change the units there. Do a sync and you should be fine.

I had the same issue all of a sudden, it took a lot of Google Fu to find this page.

I had FitBit products from day one, it's sad that stuff is still super confusing. This is where my Series 4 Apple Watch shines .

Wow! Thank you for this clear and easy to follow solution. I purchased my Fitbit Ionic today and it showed Celsius by default. I spent the whole afternoon searching the forum for the solution; none of them worked... and finally I came across yours and it fixed it. I love my Fitbit now. Awesome.

Hello, I'm trying to switch my weather from Celsius to Fahrenheit on my FitBit Iconic but when I go to apps the weather has no settings for it, it just says installed.

My Fitbit weather app is only stuck on one location. It won’t update to ‘current’ location. I have to add other locations as it won’t automatically update. GPS for everything else is fine. Thoughts?

Nope But thanks for trying.

I followed the instructions and they are the same steps that I have always used to try to fix the Fahrenheit Celsius problem. The settings on my app show Fahrenheit and have always shown Fahrenheit. The temperature in my weather app on my ionic always shows centigrade. I have never been able to change it. On top of that, I can’t figure out for the life of me how to get it to remember my city. Every single morning I have to get up I have to get into the app go into the settings and add in my city manually it will not take current location and it will not remember my city. If I don’t do this I get no weather when I click on the Weather icon on my ionic. Is there some sort of magic trick or special set of saving steps that I have to go through in order for it to remember my city or is it that it just is not designed to do so. Also what is the point of having current. Location if it won’t recognize where I am? I go into my settings and I set the location settings to always in hopes that maybe that would fix it at the expense of costing me data and battery life. That doesn’t seem to help either. Thanks for your help.

Hi. Well I tried your suggestion. I went to Google and typed in FitBit.com.  It was just a website that describes all of their products. So I thought that maybe what you meant was open the app on my iPhone. No change I make on the app Weather settings makes any difference on my phone. I can’t change the temperature from Celsius to Fahrenheit even though it shows Fahrenheit on the app. On another note, I don’t know how to get the Weather app to recognize my location. I have location settings set to always at the expense. Of battery life and data use. That doesn’t work. I manually type in my city name. I hit edit them done in hopes that it saves it it never remembers it as soon as I get out of the app it gets amnesia and doesn’t remember what I just typed in. Any suggestions for getting this weather app to work? Your help is most appreciated.
