I bought the Ionic on the 18th of October and since then have religiously been logging my sleep hours and got only two sleep stages. I wear the watch tight enough so it’s not moving around, tried all the troubleshooting tips on the website but still no sleep stages.
So I emailed the help desk and Camilo said I should restart the watch. So I did and the watch worked for the night and then the night after - nothing again.
I emailed Camilo again - he said I should clicking on ‘why did I get a simplied sleep result’ - there was no such option on my app. So Camilo said the isssue will be escalated.
12 hours later Joshua contacted me telling me that the watch is fine it registered one sleep cycle and that I should wear the watch snug and the sleep stages will appear.
I replied saying I do infact wear the watch snug and even rebooted the watch but the sleep stages aren’t registering. I send screenshots that night and again the next day but I haven’t heard anything back.
Anyone had the same issue and got it fixed?.
I’m seriously considering returning the watch because it isn’t doing what I bought it to do! Really frustrated and sad that it has come to this, I had high hopes in this product.

I recently bought a fitbit Ionic as well. I bought mine used but it was in great condition and I reset the watch the first day I had it. For the first week it worked flawlessly. It was tracking every wake up and every minute i slept. Although the past 4 days it has not tracked one second of my sleep. This is really frustrating since the only reason I chose the Ionic over a Samsung watch was becaus of the sleep tracking.

Sounds like you got a defective Ionic. I would either take it back where you bought it and exchange it for a new one, or call Fitbit on the phone and talk to them.
My first Ionic was defective in another area and when I called Fitbit, they went over everything, checked from their end on what I had tried, concluded it was defective and sent a replacement which works well.

Sleep stages is kind of random. I went weeks with no issues, but now I've only gotten stages 2 days since October 12. Same band, same tightness, same skin prep and cleaning routine. Heart rate appears to be fully captured. It just doesn't want to work.

How is the heart rate readings, some say if the watch is to tight they don't get stages. I find mine can be really loose, and as long as I have 3 hours asleep I get stages.
When clicking on the sleep record, under the graph, you should see the reason fitbit could not calculate stages.
