So I just ordered the new Ionic and it should arrive on Friday and was wondering about the ones that have received their Ionic so far what do you think?

Overall I am happy with the purchase, but I'm really hoping for some software updates.
Pros:
Construction of the main body is really light and solid. Very confidence inspiring.
Display is nice and bright, and is clear and broght with my polarized sunglasses on!
I like the look compared to every other fitbit branded watch.
Starbucks app will be used a lot and was easy to set up.
Comes with both sized wrist bands, and you can combine them to make a "Medium" size!
Cons:
Music uploads issues others have mentioned.
Wallet not being active yet, that is a very important feature.
Setup and updates took something like an hour.
Default wrist band looks okay but suffers from the same hair-pull syndrome as my Charge HR.
Into the future:
I'm buying a leather wrist band for more comfort (and hopefully less hair pulling) during daily wear.
I'm buying a second cable so I can have one at work and at home.
Excited to get updates to help with uploading music and activating the Wallet.
I really want a modified "Moment" clock face that just replaces the red time with orange to match the color of my watch!

So far, I love it. I really like the look in real life compared with the photos. It only took 20 minutes to setup and so far it’s working flawlessly. I saw a lot of people are having trouble with loading music. I haven’t tried that and probably won’t until I receive the Fitbit Flyer I ordered. Hopefully by then they’ll have things ironed out. I really like it. I’ll probably try the Starbucks app tomorrow.

Setup was very easy. I used the alarm clock in the morning and it is so funny to wake up with the tinkling from the watch. The coach seems like one of the most useful features and I hope to start using systematically. I had a small issue with the wrist wake system but fitbit support chat was quick to resolve it. Overall I am very happy and I am looking forward to interesting apps from different developers.

What did they do to resolve the wrist wake system? Mine doesn't always seem to work. Thanks!
So far am really happy but haven't tried transferring music yet. Was easy to setup. Only have had it for about 6 hours so we'll see.

In my case, I had to swipe to the right and go to the settings screen. For some reason my "wrist wake" was set to manual rather than auto. I don't know how this happened but changing it to auto resolved my issue. There seem to be people that have a similar issue that cannot be resolved in the same simple way. I hope this is not the case for you.

Well, "so far" isn't very far. For crying out loud, the setup routine was a freaking disaster. And there are absolutely, utterly, positively no instructions at all included with this three hundred dollar piece of advanced technology. I'm quite a geek, but I fought and I fought and I fought and I fought with the first update process -- I got error message after error message after error message. I utterly could not move forward from that process. But then, when I tried setting it up with a different device (I started with a Windows 10 notebook, then moved to my Android phone), I couldn't find any way to try the update again. Finally, I noticed the firmware that was displayed, checked it out here in the forum, and allegedly it is the latest version. So, how that happened is entirely lost on me.
The lack of instructions is absolute, total rubbish. "I don't see the "elliptical" exercise." "How do you re-arrange the apps on the screens?" "How do you get the Weather app to work?" Those are questions I've had, and there is utterly no help, whatsoever. I have found answers in this forum, so thanks to everyone, nut no thanks to Fitbit, in return for the three hundred dollars they have taken from me. unacceptable. And I still can't get anything whatsoever from the Weather app, even though I've been outside, hoping to "hook up with the GPS." So far, that's one of the big things I want to see, and it just plain won't freaking work. But again, no help from Fitbit. Ridiculous.
So, if you want to be frustrated out of your mind, by all means, spend three hundred dollars, and tear out all the hair you might have remaining on your head. I utterly can't imagine how people who aren't uber-geeks can even get started with this thing.
Oh, and at this point, I really haven't seen whether the sleep tracking will work, or the exercise recognition, and so on. It seems to be recording steps, and it is showing a pulse number. But just about everything else remains to be seen. And I sure can't say that "confidence is high."

All the instructions you seek are in the fitbit app. Press the icon in the top right corner. On the account screen, press the iconic. There you will find a button entitled “How to Use”.

No, "all the instructions I seek" are not in there. Not even close. Does it tell you how to re-arrange the apps on the screens? No. Does it tell you that not all exercises have been "selected" to show in the Exercise app, and that you need to go into its settings and choose the ones you want? No. And on and on and on. It gives you very simple instructions for using the device, but very little about how to set it up, and certainly nothing in the kind of detail that you truly need in order to set everything up.
And there's certainly nothing about "troubleshooting" -- for instance, is there anything in there that explains what I need to do in order to make the Weather app work? So far, I absolutely cannot get it to take any location I type into its settings. And so on. Without this forum, it would have been very likely that I would have returned my Ionic, in absolute frustration.

I just got my Ionic today and took it for a run.
Pros:
Looks good.
Comfortable.
I dig the weather app....now how about a lightning alert added to it?
The coaching feature is cool. Workouts on the go!
Easy to use.
GPS is accurate.
I like the HR data.
I like not having to wear my Alta and other GPS watch together. Less clutter on my wrist for everyday runs.
Good everyday GPS/fit tracker all in one.
I like auto pause for running.
i have several years of Fitbit data and like having GPS and tracking all in one.
Cons:
Won’t sync my run to Strava
Wish it had a longer battery life on GPS. My other GPS has 30 hours. This is a good additional GPS for runs longer than 30 hours. Yes, I have run for 34 hours straight.
Wish it had a little satellite symbol on the run/bike exercise page so I know GPS is on.
Can I charge while in active GPS mode. Haven’t found anything about this.

At the bottom of the "How To Use" section it states to go to Fitbit Help for the full manual. I have it linked below. It seems to have all that you are looking for, for the most part.

Sorry for trying to help...I thought you already had the full users manual because on 9/22 you commented that you were reading through it and you were frustrated that you have to enter a four digit pin code when using fitbit pay 🤔

Unfortunately, Apple Watch series 1 doesn’t come with a charger either. Seems to be the new cost cutting method 🙁

This is actually quite helpful. The rest of the "How To Use" article is extremely basic. Still, there are lots of things that aren't covered here, and we would be lost without the help from folks in this forum. But it's still mind-boggling that "Here is the user manual" is something that is hidden away so deeply -- couldn't Fitbit have found room to include a link to it inside the box, or at least provided a link to it somewhere in the setup routine? I can imagine how much more money they're spending on customer support, simply because they haven't included an obvious link to this document.

Picked an Ionic up at MediaMarkt early today. Stock seemed very limited with only one on the shelf. Sales staff said they are expecting more during the week.
Setup/updates took about 45 minutes and was easy to do. Followes the setup with a quick quick 10k lunch run and the GPS tracked my route perfectly (which certainly wasn't always the case with my Surges).
One minor annoyance was that I kept on having to flick my wrist to keep an eye on distance, pace, etc. I don't think there is an always-on sport setting for the screen , is there?
Also, how does one turn on kilometre alerts? My Surge vibrates and displays my time/pace every kilometre.
