So I just ordered the new Ionic and it should arrive on Friday and was wondering about the ones that have received their Ionic so far what do you think?

You go to the app, you click on the account, than on ionic and than you see exercise shortcuts, you click that.
You click edit, you remove one from the list and than you are able to add other exercises, but “rowing” does not exist I think, and if that is the case you may simply use the shortcut “workout” instead. When you finish that and you sync your watch again than the new exercises will be down on the watch.

Bought an Ionic today, returning it to Kohls tomorrow. I am recovering from having a pacemaker put in. I was very active before, and plan on continuing. I had a fitbit charge and was looking forward to the upgrade. Was very let down.
Did the initial setup as prompted to on the phone. Took a long time. Then tried to figure out the music downloading. Pretty much impossible. No instructions, couldn't find on the site, tried the chat thing. Was stuck with some guy who was probably talking to 4 other users at the same time. Would give me an instruction, usually wrong, then I'd have to wait 4 to 5 minutes for his next instruction. Tried the twitter help, even worse. Was totally let down by the lack of support.
Then, when I was looking at the heart rate, half the time it wasn't registering. When it was, it was hopping from 55 bpm up to 75 bpm. Pretty much impossible for me. My resting rate is low 40's. My pacemaker is pacing me at 60. I am a steady 60 unless I start exercising. Takes a bit to get me above 60.
So the heart rate inaccuracy, and the lack of instructions and very poor support is sending me back to Kohls to return it tomorrow....

Yes, you can just do a search for Fitbit watch rumors and this upcoming watch is mentioned in multiple sites. The design certainly looks more attractive then the Ionic. If priced right I think it might have more mass appeal then the Ionic.
I have been reading a lot of FitBit news. The future is in smart watches and they wish to be a part of that market but their reputation and most of their sales are still on the trackers. Myself and others were deeply disappointed when they decided to drop the Fitbit One and now I see the Surge. I assume that is part of their philosophy and hopes of gravitating users towards their smart watches.

Very disappointed. Regret buying it. Will not sync to my Bose headphones. Will not keep the weather updated. I keep having to sync to get it to work. Will not connect to my Pandora account.

To be honest the new watch looks more like apple watch and it seems like it's targeted at ladies with it's curves and sleek look. Ionic is a lot more manly looking watch. Also if rumours are real there might not be a gps on board of that new watch which for me would be a deal breaker.

I've been wearing Ionic for 2 weeks now and been using it for my running and other workouts tracking. Also for sleep tracking, which is one of the best features this watch has. So I've been wearing it pretty much 24/7. Now it does have a few things to improve, like loosing connection with my phone resulting in missed notifications(usually occurs when I leave my phone and walk too far away from it, turning phone's bluetooth off and on usually fixes the issue). Weather app being useless asking me to sync even tho I only just did. Screen wrist wake up gesture is totally awkward. Heartrate monitor is sometimes a bit off, mostly during exercising.
Other than that the more I'm using it the more I like it. There's a lot to improve, a lot! But wouldn't return it or even swap for anything else at the moment.

Honestly I think the ionic is avery good smartwatch for FITNESS. It is still a good watch but if you want a smartwatch than samsung or apple is the way to go. I have had my ionic for a while and i think the sports band that comes with it is not particularly nice. I prefer the sports band you can buy.

Not impressed with Fitbit. Long runs of more than 2.5 hours device totally shuts down. Fitbit said run without all day sync, no music, no gps and let us know when battery dies. Did that and they say “hey, no problem.” So ran fully charged with no all day sync and no music but with GPS and it stopped at 2.5 hours. Friend with same device also ran same marathon and her Fitbit still working off the original charge. But mine is just fine don’t cha know. Defective Device and they won’t replace. Would be fine if they did better diagnostic or troubleshooting other than wait a week and don’t do anything and yeah you’re fine

Apple actually captures like data for longer periods plus plays music up to 5 hours. Ask me how I know--ran with both since Fitbit quits after 2.5 hours

Agggrggggaaa... just missed a really important call because my Ionic wouldn't notify me that someone's calling. Funny enough 2 mins earlier I've received notifications from whatsapp.

How do we feel about fitbit bringing out the versa with so many people seeing no improvement in this beta ionic!!!

They answered me on Twitter that FitOS 2.0 should be coming to the Ionic in Marts. Looking very much forward to seeing if it makes it more like a proper smartwatch. 🙂

Well I hope they make some major improvements inf FitOS 2.0 and that Versa will be released with that OS on board. Otherwise I wouldn't expect a massive sales. Plus it's got no GPS.
My wife is still using Blaze and when I got my Ionic she was like "Nahhh, not worth upgrading at all, it's basically the same watch that just looks too manly". I showed her a Versa yesterday and she was like "Yeah, it's quite pretty, looking a lot like Apple watch, but it's got no gps so naaaah, not worth upgrading".
In my opinion the person in charge of new devices and software development needs sacking asap because he's lacking imagination.

Yeah, at the moment Ionic is just an overpriced Blaze in slightly different shell.
