What happened to tracking "Walk" as an exercise?

My surge had a separate function to track walking as an exercise.  My wife and I walk every night and I liked tracking that separately from my morning runs.  Now the Ionic has lost that feature; is there any chance of it coming back?

It’s still available. Go into the Fitbit app, Ionic settings, Exercise Shortcuts and deselect one of the current exercises (if necessary to make room). Then you can add Walking.

It seems that since 2017 Fibit has abandoned "Walk" altogether as an exercise short cut and, at least on my version (16Nov2018) I do not seem to be able to select or deselect any short cuts to "make room" for "Walk".

Yes, I am able to use "Workout" as my "Walk" but will this deny me travking my walking with the Ionic's in-built GPS?

It begs the question why "Walk" is being ignored.  I only have one lung (thanks to lung cancer) and COPD in my remaining one.  Walking isi as  much as I can physically do AND wasxrevognised in my Fitbit Charge 3 as a shortcut.  I returned my Charge 3 as the screen was too small to get the largest screen as on the Ionic, only to find my main exercise is to be sneered at?

I stand corrected: if all 7 shortcuts are already filled (as would seem to beh the initial default position), swipe left to rid yourself of those you can live without and in order to add the shortcut(s) you want.  In this way I was able to not only add "Walk" to my Exercise Shortcuts, but place it in the No.1 position.

For Fitbit dummies like myself, I think it worth adding here, how to navigate within the Fitbit app to get to exercise shortcuts.

Open the app.

Tap on the image of your Fitbit device (very top right-hand corner of your screen).

Now scroll the screen up until you see "Exercise Shortcuts" on the list.

Tap on the words "Exercise Shortcuts" and you have arrived at where you can add or remove all various exercise shortcuts, INCLUDING "Walk"!!!

Thanks to all those who took their time and thectrouble to assist others.

Have fun!
