Folks, let's do some coordination. It appears there are several versions of the Firmware out there for the Ionic. So, let's make this easy; please provide your CURRENT Firmware version and your LOCATION, so we can all see if we are running like Firmware.
USA: 27.25.16.7

Please provide a link to confirm that. The fact is, developer firmware should never be installed on a non-developer device.

- The Firmware is specific to the Ionic, it has absolutely nothing to do with the phones.
- Firmware release 27.30.5.8 is a Developer version and should NOT be installed on Ionics which are not being used for development of apps as it hasn't been blessed as being stable
- The current stable release for non-Developer Ionic devices is 27.25.16.7 which was released in late September.
Not true.
Here in Italy, at least.
Two friends of mine had received the 27.30.5.8 firwmare two days ago and no ones is a developer or uses any developer subscriptions.
And they are on iOS - that's why I'm asking if the guy with newest firmware are on iOS.

They must have opted for Developer somehow; you will not be offered that firmware release unless you do. It is possible they clicked a box or something and didn't pay attention to what they were doing.

Where is this option?

Again, your mistaking!
A developer version is not a beta version, its a version which enable you develop apps. Its not a prerelease of the firmware!
could you imagine when the developer uses an unstable version to develop apps?
furthermore, the developer version is very stable, I use it from day one

@Jorkal in my opinion too, he is wrong.

One final time, 27.30.x.x is NOT for non-developers; please refer to the following thread to install the correct version of firmware:

11-16-2017 12:50
Again, yre right its for developers but it is not a prerelease of the software but it has additional options.
so it is stable!

You cannot prove a positive with a negative; just because you haven't had any issues does not in any way mean the firmware release is stable. The only certified stable release is 27.25.16.7. If you want to argue about it, please provide a link to a page where Fitbit states the 27.30.x.x release is stable and meant for general consumption.
If you cannot do that then I will not respond any longer.

Safe to say, we are all getting impatient. It’s almost December. If they don’t roll out the new firmware and App Store at least 2 weeks prior to Christmas (for shopping season momentum) it might very well be the last nail in the Fitbit coffin. That would make me really sad as I love the products.

LOLZ, not even remotely likely.

You obviously don’t know their financial position, market share, or revenue. Fitbit is hurting. The Ionic needed to be a grand slam.

Nothing obvious about it; Fitbit will do perfectly well even if the Ionic is just a reasonable success.

Well if you want to ignore the facts and data, sure. A company cannot survive with a string of poor selling products. Especially their flagship product like the Ionic. There is a reason their stock price was $47 in 2015 and is now $7. I can debate all day but you are giving me an opinion and I’m giving you factual data. It cannot keep up like this. I love the Ionic and pray the new software update lures in more buyers. If it doesn’t, Fitbit will be on the ropes.

You're kind of ignoring some market basics aren't you? If I remember correctly, the stock hit it's high not too long after their IPO and has been in the $7.00 range for some years now.

Precisely. The stock has gone nowhere.

Agreed, but there is a HUGE divide between a flat stock price and putting that "last nail in the Fitbit coffin"; like I said, all the Ionic needs to do is be a moderate success.
