What's measured by Ionic for run & bike activity??

First time owner for Fitbit and loving this Ionic...

Can anyone recommend an app or a way to extract information from the Ionic on my number of strokes when doing my water paddling sports?

Certainly, the run and bike activity tracks my movement on GPS.  Surely there's some data that is captured for the repetitive motion of my hands, a bit like how the device might calculate my stride etc for running?

Will appreciate any insight from the Fitbit team.

I can see many request to add water sports on this community, and while we all wait patiently - I like to know if the bike or run activity captures more relevant data about one's paddle motion? ... in addition to all the other interesting stats.

Thanks all.

@Paddle-Windy given Fitbit's focus on steps, that is what the Ionic counts. Yes it also measures HR, but steps are Fitbit's raison d'etre. There is therefore no way to translate the Ionic's movement into anything but steps.
