Whatsapp is not syncing to Ionic. Not receiving messages or notifications

My ionic is receiving notifications and messages from messenger, text messages, emails etc, but WhatsApp has just stopped working. I've tried:

- restarting phone

- restarting ionic

- unpairing and re-pairing ionic

- checked all notification settings in fitbit app and WhatsApp app

This has been going on for a week now. It used to work fine.

I've also let my fitbit run out of charge completely and restarted it... still nothing. Is anyone able to help? WhatsApp is my main form of communication, so disappointing not to have it on a device that was thus expensive.
