Different brands usb wall chargers have different power rating ,
what are volts / Amps requirements to safely charge a Fitbit ionic with a wall usb charger?
can't carry a laptop around just to charge my Fitbit safely .
( iPads wall charger has higher output as compared to iPhones or other mobiles wall chargers.) don't want to damage my New Ionic.

Any will do, the fitbit will take just what it needs. The only recommendations from fitbit are:
"We recommend plugging your charging cable into a USB port on your computer or other low-energy device. If necessary, you can use a UL-certified USB wall charger. Don't use a USB hub or battery pack to charge, and only use the charging cable that came with your device."

I bought this one on december and it works fine.
Takes sometime to get it, because the chinese posts are not very quick.
Works better then the original cable, because it fits in the stand.

I don’t think steveh’s is correct. It says “low energy device”. Wikipedia defines this as .5 watts. I believe that is what a usb 2.0 socket in a laptop generates.
Some of the new Apple chargers are 10+ watts. They used to be 5 watts.
I don’t know if this would hurt a battery prematurely or fry a motherboard but, why risk it?

I have been using numerous chargers. I have never charged Ionic from the computer USB ( because it's way too inconvenient ). I used hubs, power banks, mobile phone chargers and battery still works quite well. However, I don't recommend to do the same thing though if it's not recommended by Fitbit.

Whenever I tried to charge my Ionic using a USB 2.0 port, it would sometimes say something about "not having enough power to charge" and stop charging.
I've been using a usb port that's built into a lamp on my desk. I'm really concerned about this also as my Blaze stopped being able to charge at all after about 15 months. I try to take care of the battery like I care for my phone's battery. I try not to let it run out of battery before charging. At the same time, I try not to overcharge it. I also wipe the contacts dry with a microfiber cloth before connecting the charger because I noticed the contacts on my Blaze had black marks on them when it stopped working.
