I just got my Ionic and I set it up, but like my Alta I was not able and now with my Ionic I am STILL not able to read my text messages on my watch!!!! Why?!?!?
My sister is able to read her messages on her Alta?
Is it because I have an Android and she has an iPhone?
Please help!!!

I'm so sorry, my bad @RECM75. I've updated my previous post with some extra steps you can definitely attempt with your Fitbit Ionic.
Since your phone is Android, you can use the steps I posted before.
Let me know if that works for you my friend, I'll be around!

Might I also suggest checking the Fitbit app's permissions.
From main menu on phone goto Settings
Then you need the Apps section
In there look for the Fitbit app and press it
One of the fields on this page should say Permissions, press it
Make sure the toggles for all of the needed permissions are turned on
Would have provided pictures but I'm on Android 8.0 and the screens are a bit different to how they were in older versions. Hope this helps 😎

Yes!
I would also suggest ensuring Do-Not-Disturb is switched OFF.
This somehow was the reason why I wasn't getting notifications for the first three months i owned my Ionic.
Every since it been perfect for notifications (except some delayed phone call notifications). And this is on a BlackBerry KeyOne which is surely not on the officially tested Android devices.

“I just got my Ionic and I set it up, but like my Alta I was not able and now with my Ionic I am STILL not able to read my text messages on my watch!!!! Why?!?!?”
1 Your phone may not be compatible
2 Your phone IS compatible but the function does not work properly
3 Your settings are not properly set up to do this
4 Other reason
In my case Tech Support is well aware of an internal Ionic coding problem where text message quick replies do NOT show up on the Ionic when a text message missed shows up in the notifications swipe down. This applies to an approved Android phone.
As noted before -> the text message quick replies DO show up and work when a phone call missed shows up in the notifications swipe down.
So bottom line is Tech Support is aware of this specific problem and apparently are working to fix this bug oversight. If it works when a phone call comes in -> it SHOULD also work when a text comes in. Will let everyone know if this gets fixed anytime soon.

“Hey there @Whistler888, thanks for jumping in here and for letting us know your outcome with Customer Support.”
Thanks Marre. Hopefully this will be sorted soon. As noted before -> the coding should be a simple “cut and paste” from the phone message quick response.
The code takes you to the phone Messaging App -> then stops. All it needs is a few more lines of code to perform the “quick reply” responses. Should be a very quick easy bug fix if it were prioritized. Even switched and tried the Google Messages App. But still no joy. Similar situation. So have concluded it is a simple coding oversight.
