Why can't I pair my Ionic with my Samsung Galaxy??

Hi All,  I exchanged my Fitbit Versa for an Ionic on Saturday and was really pleased with the level of service I received from both the store I purchased my Versa from and also from Fitbit themselves - obviously the Versa certainly doesn't do what it says on the box.  Anyway I was super excited with the Ionic but I just couldn't get it to pair and set up with my Galaxy phone.  In the end I used someone's apple phone and it paired no problem.

Is anyone else having the same problems?

Which galaxy is it? My S8 is great with my fitbits.
