Ok so I'm one of the unlucky ones who has not been able to connect my Ionic to WiFi. Restarted watch, unpaired from BT, removed the device from the app, re-added to app, factory reset,, yada, yada - tried all the tricks. Nothing works.
Called support - they informed me that my phone is not supported - LG G5. Strange because the G5 is not that old of a phone. Was given the following link to check compatibility - https://www.fitbit.com/devices
Sure enough the G5 is not on the list of supported devices. Neither is the G6. G2 and G3 are on the list though. ?? Requested and was issued an RMA.
Gave it one more try and opened up a chat - support person was very helpful but after almost 2 hours and trying various things including another firmware update - still cannot connect to wifi. Definitely not an issue with my network (checked signal strength, it's 2.5, etc...).
Based on the number of others that are having issues, I have my doubts that this is a phone model issue - the G5 is not that old.... but throwing this out there for others just in case. Anyone else have an LG G5 that is able to connect via Wifi ok?
Unfortunately this is a bad start for the Ionic - hope Fitbit can get it worked out but for $300 I can't take a chance with the Wifi and syncing issues. Sending it back - 😞 Too bad I really like all else with it. Maybe after the bugs are worked out......

I assume support would have checked this, but is your home wifi either WEP, WPA personal or WPA2 personal? Those are the only networks it will connect to. Also, it will not connect to 5GHz networks.

For what it's worth, I have an LG G6 which is working perfectly with my Ionic. I would be more inclined to say the issue was more to do with your router and Ionic not playing nicely opposed to the phone.

Support didn't ask but I knew to check. My network is the commonly used WPA2-PSK with AES encryption. Not enterprise.

Not the router - its the watch. I've never had any issues connecting anything to my network. Watch is 2-3 feet away from the router and the measured signal strength is as good as it gets.... Wish it was on my end - that would be easier to fix....
Good to hear the G6 is working though - thanks for sharing that 🙂

I dont understand, your phone only communicate with Bluetooth with yre Ionic, not WiFi.
can you setup yre Ionic with fitbit app
if so, try to lay yre ionic not to close to router!
can you change yre settings for WiFi in the Fitbit App?

You don't have 5GHz as the default, do you?

I've had an LG Stylo and a Fitbit since 2015, and have never had a syncing issue. Until the update on Thursday Fitbit CS told me my phone was also not on the list. Since Fitbit resolved things on their end, I haven't has syncing issues.
