I have installed and uninstalled the windows 10 app multiple times but every time I get to the page where I transfer music the app closes completely with no warning. I have uninstalled the app, restarted my laptop and checked it up to date on windows software

It's nice to see you around the forums @Jodie0126! Thanks for troubleshooting this already, nice way to go!

Since you already have the Fitbit app installed on your computer, just make sure you followed the steps below to download and install the app:

  1. Click the Start button on your PC and open the Windows Store (called Store).
  2. Search for “Fitbit app” and when you find it click Free to download the app.
  3. Click Microsoft account to sign in with your existing Microsoft account. If you don’t already have an account with Microsoft, follow the on-screen instructions to create a new account.
  4. Open the app after the download is complete.
  5. Log in to your existing Fitbit account.

If so, make sure your watch and PC are connected to the same Wi-Fi network:

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the Account icon > your device image.
  2. Tap or click Wi-Fi Settings.
  3. Make sure your watch and computer are connected to the same network. To see which network your computer is on, click the Wi-Fi symbol on your screen. If you haven’t connected your watch to Wi-Fi yet or need to network, tap or click Add Network and follow the on-screen instructions. For best results, use your home or work Wi-Fi network.
  4. If your watch and computer are connected to different networks, manually connect to your watch to the same network as your computer. Return to the Wi-Fi Settings screen in the Fitbit app, tap the network name, and tap Connect.

Once you've done that, let continue with the following:

  1. Plug your watch into the charger.
  2. On your PC, open the Fitbit app and click the Music icon.
  3. Click Personal Music.
  4. On your watch, open the Music app and then tap Transfer Music. Note that you may need to scroll down to see the transfer button.

  5. Wait a few moments for your watch to connect.

  6. When prompted, follow the on-screen instructions on your PC to choose or create the playlists you want to download to your watch. After you select a playlist, the download starts automatically.

You can watch the video as well. Man Happy

Hope this helps, I'll be around!

@Jodie0126 Just to add, I previously have been very anti the music transfer process, having tried several times from launch to get music on my Ionic. However there have been several updates and after reading your post I decided to give it another go, just to see if I could replicate your problem.

I downloaded a clean version of the Fitbit app from Microsoft's W10 Store, plugged in my Ionic, selected my WiFi network, picked a playlist and, blow me, it actually worked.

All in trying to say is make sure you have the latest version installed. It does work but let us know if you still encounter problems.

And here's a picture to show the watch can be selected as a source once music is on it

I am having the same problem and have become very frustrated!  I have uninstalled the app and restarted my computer multiple times.  I successfully transferred 12 out of the 20 songs on my playlist so I believe it is possible.  Now, the app won't stay open long enough for me to even attempt a transfer!  The Ionic was way to expensive to deal with a glitchy crashing app!  Someone, HELP, please!!!!

I have the same problem. I have followed the steps but it doesn't resolve the problem. When the Ionic connects to the app the screen blurs and then it crashes.

I have reinstalled the app so many times, and even restored the watch to factory settings and started from scratch but it simply doesn't work.

Having same problem. Been transferring music since I got it for Christmas without any problems. Using same computer and same method now and app crashes after attempting to sync with Ionic. Reinstalled app on Windows 10 and same result.
