Wireless headphones not pairing and connected with Ionic

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have had my Ionic since Dec 2017. I had previously paired and had been able to use 2 different wireless headsets. As of 2 weeks ago neither pair will connect. I have uninstalled both from my Ionic and have tried to reinstall them both. No go!!   I wait till the headphone is ready to pair but when I go to settings/ connect Bluetooth/ add new device all it does is says Searching and then Still Searching. After it will tell me no device detected. What is going on. This is the reason I paid so much money for the watch. (Headphones pair to my iPhone no problem).  I want to leave phone behind and just use Ionic for music on my runs. Please help, this is frustrating and driving me crazy!!!

@Donnagir67 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Thanks for reporting the situation you are experiencing regarding Ionic not connecting to your wireless headphones.

Have you tried restarting Ionic already? This workaround has helped other users in the past:

If for some reason the headphones are paired to Ionic and not working, please unpair them and try the above steps.

Also, when doing the pairing process check if there are any other Bluetooth devices nearby. Other devices may be interfering with the Bluetooth signal, so try putting those devices away to just leave Ionic as the only Bluetooth device around. You can try turning your phone's Bluetooth off while doing this.

Hope this helps. Please let me know how it goes! Smiley Happy

Thank you for your response. I have tried all the steps that were suggested and it still will not pair and connect to my headphones. Under the Add New Device button it says:
Music via Bluetooth
Pair your phone if music control
is not working
Under that in blue it says Off, On, Pair
I have tried it in all 3 settings. None seem to make a difference!!! Not sure what to do next.

I am having the same issue! I just got an ionic and it won’t pair to my wireless headphones. Before trying to pair with my ionic, I turn off all other Bluetooth devices nearby, and put the headphones in pairing mode. I’ve also tried restarting everything. Whatever I do, the ionic can’t find the headphones. I also tested it with a Bluetooth speaker and it wasn’t able to find that either. Can you please help? Thanks!

I am able to use my headphones with my Bluetooth on my iPhone but still cannot get them to work on my Ionic. I have also tried reloading them as well as shutting off my phones Bluetooth and all other Bluetooth devices. I do have a few other pairs of wireless headphones that do work with my Ionic though. Not sure the difference in headphones.... I actually LOVE using my Ionic when I run with my music and other headphones. So much lighter than carrying a phone too.
Sorry I really don’t have any answers or tricks for you. Just maybe try a different pair of headphones... that’s what eventually worked for me.
Good luck.

@Kaia14 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Thanks for reporting the situation you are experiencing connecting Ionic with Bluetooth headphones.

What kind of headphones are you trying to pair? Did you followed these restart steps for Ionic?

Also, please check if there are no other Bluetooth devices nearby that may be interrupting the connectivity.

@Donnagir67 Thanks for your reply and for sharing your experience. I'm glad to hear that you are using some Bluetooth headphones with Ionic and enjoying it.

Did customer support helped you out with your other headphones?

@Donnagir67 What wireless headphones do you have? I am looking at getting a pair, but I want to make sure I get a pair that will work with my Ionic.
