ive had so many issues with this watch. it took me over 8 hours to setup. i dont use phone apps, which is why i bought this watch. i wanted a non phone app for exercising. what do i learn when i get it? i need a app to control EVERYTHING ON IT!
so luckily i had windows 10, i downloaded the extremely horrible app. but waaiiiit thats not all, you have to use the website AND the app. why everything isnt combined into one? who knows
the app is unstable, in fact so unstable that the bluetooth constantly disconnects my laptops internet consistently. nothing else in my house, just my laptop. so i learned when im not syncing this watch to disconnect the bluetooth every single time just so i can have the internet work correctly.
after a day and a half (over 8 straight hours) i finally got most of the watch setup. it would not sync, it would not find wifi, it wouldnt find bluetooth, the apps inside the app wouldnt load. i just had to keep constantly trying. that was all just to get the stupid thing to get off the setup screen and actually be bale to use this thing
when i was finally able to use it, i learned i burned 60,000 calories this year so far.....even though i only owned it 2 days. im not a scientist but that dont seem right but hey what do i know
yesterday i woke up with over 1,000 calories burned, today i woke up with 1,200 calories burned. the watch has been idle on a table no where near any vibrations to make it do that. so why have i burned over 1k calories? well i guess from what i read fitbit thought it was a great idea to add a estimate of what my body is burning in its sleep naturally. a option i wish you could turn off and pretty much ruins the watch. that means every single day im getting a inaccurate reading. i admit this option is neat, but it should NOT be mandatory because it can get extremely confusing of what you actually burned during a workout and what the watch is estimating. i bought this watch only wanting to know strictly what i burn during exercising and walking in places like a mall. so i guess i have to click "exercise" and start and stop every single activity i do to get a more accurate reading
i seriously think fitbit should reconsider this "estimated" crap. furthermore on the webpage you cant deduct calories. the only way ive read you can is type in driving and deduct calories. i tried that and it added 2000 more calories. no matter what combination i put in of driving to deduct calories to make my watch at 0, i never worked right.
i wouldnt mind all these dumb issues if this was a $30 watch, but for $250 dollars? this thing needs a serious update to be able to disable the estimated calorie.
i like the weather feature, but im not sure how accurate it is because since i have to turn my bluetooth off the watch says enable the app to update. so does it update all day by gps? or only when you update it through the app? am i going to have to go back to my computer everytime i want to refresh the weather or else itll be stuck on the same temp all day?
whats the point of having a yearly total, if i cant delete the crap that was on the watch before i got it. apparently for weeks my watch had been burning calories before i bought it. if i put my weight and height as 0 will it stop doing this estimating crap?
my laptop is only 6 months old so its not outdated in specs at all. i dunno why i have so many issues. also i noticed the bottom of my watch blinks a light repeatedly nonstop. is that normal? i read in the 1 page instruction booklet this has some sort of pulse technology that can be bad if you have a weak heart. i would think that should be in larger print. that kind of worries me so when i dont exercises i keep the watch off.
mainly when using the start/stop exercise feature and gps the watch seems good and thats the only thing i need to work, but for $250 i wish the additional stuff didnt give me so many problems.

I too have had trouble setting up this item; now that it's done, I can't access the home screen where the clock is - th is leaves me without a watch. How do I get to the clock screen? All I've got is the Fitbit logo - not very useful.

You sir are an idiot. Do some research about bmr etc before criticizing what is a standard..... no clue why I'm responding to this nonsense....

i did do my research i spent about 3 days watching videos about this product and others, and then researching the problems i had finding out that im not the only one with these problems. no problems i mentioned are on the webpage or in any reviews. did you miss my entire paragraph about body mass and estimating? this is not mentioned anywhere when you buy the watch. and there is numerous threads of others complaining about this. i simply said there should be a option to turn it off since alot of people hate it. im not sure why you responded either because you didnt add anything to the convo either sounding like the bigger idiot.

is your watch still stuck on the screen that says complete setup? i had this issue as well and if its the same i am thinking of then you need to go into the app, and then update the watch. it wasnt until i clicked update that the actual watch was able to work and have the clock and work. and then inside the app if you click the watch icon in the top right corner, a menu will come up for your device and you pick "clocks" itll be to the left of apps i believe. and then you can pick the userface you want. but it should show up after you click update and then sync.
