my fitbit app shows to have notification badge, currently "7" and i am not sure what it is for and how to remove them

Well, I would love to but after them being there for over a month, they are
no longer there. But if you have gmail or have a texting app, it is the
numeral in the upper right of the app icon that tells you that you have
unseen messages.
