Hi, I've been putting off getting the Ionic largely because of the price and the number of negative comments that I've been reading on this chatroom. When the price dropped a bit I finally decided to chance it and buy one. I have to say that I have been really happy with how it has all gone. I have had no problems with the setup and the downloading of the software update. I was expecting problems synching and loading music from iTunes but no, it was a doddle. Notifications just seemed to happen and the various apps have worked grand. All I need now is a golf yardage app and I will be completely satisfied. Wishing you all a Happy and a Peaceful New Year, Alan

Great to hear, @Appin! Happy New Year! Hopefully someone will develop a Golf app for you soon.
Remember when reading the posts on this and other forums that people tend to only post negative comments. The hundreds or thousands of users that did not have a problem do not find a reason to post, unfortunately.

Me too - I finally retired my Blaze (which treated me well and still works great) and pulled the trigger on the Ionic. Set-up went flawlessly and so far am loving the upgrade. Will try to load music and pair Bluetooth earbuds and set up Fitbit Pay tomorrow. Pretty pumped!!

Tried the Ionic when it first came out and was a bit disappointed and returned it. Was getting tired of my Apple Watch and just purchased a new iconic. Setup and updates done with my iPhone X with out flaw. That is an improvement. Lots of watch faces and so far flawless operation.
We will give it another chance.

I guess I have been one of the lucky ones.i haven't had any major problems out of my ionic. I just can't figure out how to use my ionic to control music on my phone. Which is annoying but it's not a game changer for me.
I am wondering about if anyone know of any dates of future firmware updates. I am excited about the upcoming possibilities of the ionic I just hope there are real concrete plans to make these a reality.

Glad to hear it is working so well for you, @Sunflowercm06! The Ionic cannot control the music on your phone, it can only control music loaded to the tracker.

Sorry @USAF-Larry but you're wrong. The Ionic can control music on your phone. I do it all the time. But @Sunflowercm06 you need to initiate the playing of the music on the phone. Once started on the phone the Ionic can change volume, pause or restart, go forward or backwards tracks.
Swipe down from the clock screen and click on the three dots to select the source (phone or whatever) and the controls will light up.

Thanks for letting me know I can control music but I still can't mine come up. Once I swipe down from the clock screen it still says no music available even with music playing on my phone.

@Sunflowercm06 Have you selected the phone as the Source, or will it let you? And I’m assuming you have got a Bluetooth connection established between your phone and Ionic.

Yes, @SunsetRunner is correct - you can control the music on your phone with the Ionic but it takes a few more 'taps' to get there than on the Blaze (it was definitley quicker to get to on the Blaze). I also wish you could somehow lock that side button so that you don't accidentally bring up the Fitbit pay thing during a workout...that happened twice to me yesterday. I wear my Ionic on my right wrist and sometimes when the wrist flexes during a certain movement it hits the left side button.
