Does the hardware on the Ionic support a study/project similar to Apple's "Heart Study?"

The Ionic's hardware is certainly capable of something similar, but as it stands there isn't any software on the device to provide such a feature. Maybe it would be possible for a 3rd party developer to create an app or for Fitbit to partner with a medical institution in the future.
