"Clear All" doesn't clear all notifications

Running Fitbit app v2.84 (20213341), on my Pixel 2 running Android Pie, with the 1/5/19 security patch level. My Ionic is running 27.33.1.30 and I use Outlook for Android v2.2.266 (295).

When I swipe down from the top of the screen while in watch mode, I can browse my notifications. When I scroll to the very top and tap Clear All, some, but not all of my notifications are cleared. For the few that remain, I tap any of the actions, I get Action Failed. This notification has expired and is no longer valid.

I reset my Ionic and that clears my notifications, but the problem occurs again with new notifications.

I think that is the app version which at present is 2.89. The problem started after the update to the watch. Its still a pain.

Welcome to the Forums @SunsetRunner.

Thanks for sharing your experience and the error message that you are getting.

In this case you can restart your Fitbit and that should remove the notifications from your Fitbit.

I hope you find this useful! Let me know if there are any further questions.

This is not good enough. It has been a big problem since the last update and it is OK having to turn your Fitbit off every hour or so because as soon as it has cleared them, you receive more notifications which also will not clear. Will this ever be fixed or are we all left with another glitch from Fitbit!

Best Answer

I would have to agree with other users. This simply isn't good enough. Time and time again I see Fitbit provide inadequate responses to fix issues. The Fitbit has so much potential buy sadly feels like a prototype in the majority of its features.

Hello moderators, any update on this issue or are we destined to accept the fact that rebooting our watches is the "fix"?

Hi. Just got the FitBit Ionic and latest software update. This is a frustrating problem and doesn't make for a good first impression. Been looking for alternative watches after seeing all the minor issues going so long without fixes....

This has been an issue for months now and I don't think it will be fixed until the day we receive our next update, if we ever do. Just one of many problems with Fitbit. My last one too.

It's mid-July now. Any word or update regarding this issue?

We will never get it sorted. I've bought a Ticwatch Pro as I've given up on thickbit. Amazing watch, more free apps, faces and Google Pay works unlike my predecessor. I'll never touch another thickbit. I just use my Ionic for sleep data

Think I will go with Samsung Galaxy Watch for my next watch. Very disappointed with Fitbit on how long it take them to fix a issue.

Thanks so much, but I had some notifications that would not clear off my Ionic.

Those notifications got cleared off by doing a restart of my Ionic.

So far so good.

For the time being Victor,  all that we can do is that reboot of the Ionic,

Until we get the next update to fix that issue for good.

Have a great day

Rollie.

So Fitbit isn't bothering to fix the issue and by ignoring it, hopes people will just forget it?

My watch is 6 months old. Is becoming unusable.

Either give us a fix or give me my money back.

Rawbone,  I am not involved with Fitbit,  but I can help you clear notifications.  Open the app to the notifications open them up

You can delete each one only.

Press and hold the specific notifications you want to delete.

And a DELETE button appears

Hit that and each one is gone.

That's the best Fitbit can get done.

Hi Rollie, when you say "open the app", are you referring to the Fitbit app? I don't think the Fitbit app displays the individual notifications, but it does show your apps allowing to select which app's notifications can be displayed.
