"Clear all" or "clear" funtion marks as read

After an update a few months ago, the "clear all" clears everything off the watch as well as marking everything as read on my phone. Or if I have a reminder, it will dismiss it on my phone. That's supposed to be the "dismiss" function, not "clear" option.

Previously, "Mark as read" and "dismiss" did just that, while "clear" would take it off my watch but leave it on my phone. I found that useful so I would just see new ones on my watch. Why have two options for notifications that do the same thing?

Hey there @Kristen8989, it's nice to see you around the forums! I appreciate you have brought this to my attention. As you mentioned, please note that with the new Fitbit OS update 2.1, Notifications are now removed from the Versa/Ionic once you open the conversation in your phone. This is expected behavior and not an issue.

NOTIFICATION TIPS

  • To delete 1 notification, tap the notification > Clear.
  • To delete all notifications at once, swipe to the top of your notifications and tap Clear All.
  • If a notification is long, tap it to see the rest of the message contents.
  • To exit the notifications screen, press the back button or swipe up.
  • If you clear a notification from your watch, the notification is removed from your phone's notification center. If you clear a notification from your phone, the notification is removed from your watch.

Hope this helps, let me know if there's anything else I may assist you with.

I understand that function and I like that function.

I'm saying that if I press "clear all" on my watch, it marks everything as read on my phone and dismisses any reminders. Where previously that just got rid of them on my watch but I could still see them on my phone. Vs. when i press "mark as read."

"Mark as read" and "clear" do the same thing .
