My Ionic repeatedly gives me the warning in the subject line, even tho it seems to have sync'd. For example my steps have updated on my iphone app and tie to my ionic. Is there something in the set up I should check or something I could turn off?

Where do you see this subject line?

It's right near the top of my iphone screen, just below the fitbit header.

It's pretty weird that your Fitbit app is showing you this Failed to sync warning. I would like you to log out from the app and log back in, after this update your Fitbit app version to 3.8, you can learn more details about it by checking this post.
If your Fitbit app keeps showing this message, please provide me with a screenshot of what you're seeing.
