swimming with Ionic

Went swimming with my Ionic for the first time yesterday. I noticed the screen had only the Fitbit icon on it but figured this was probably usual and wasn't worried. Dried it off each time I exited the pool. When I returned home I noticed there was nothing on the screen and I couldn't wake it up. So thought maybe the battery was low, although it was at 38% before I left. So I put it on the charger with no response. Then I noticed it was getting hotter. and hotter, and hotter until I couldn't touch it. The three back windows seemed to be fogging over. First thought is that somehow water must have gotten into it. After about an hour, it started to cool off but the screen was still non-responsive. contacted seller and I'm getting a replacement but would really like to know if it was something I did. I was sitting in the sunshine but it wasn't overly hot. Could that be it? The next day when I was boxing it up, I must have pushed the button and display said 0% battery. Any ideas?

You might’ve got a faulty one and water got in, causing electrical problems. It’s not unheard of but you say you’ve contacted the seller and getting a replacement, so all should be good.

The same thing happened to me twice. I recommend not taking your ionic in the water.
