what are my options for a new fitbit that doesnt work?

I am trying to decide what to even do at this point. I got a new ioinic this week through my work's wellness plan. I had to pay for part of it. After unboxing it, it doesnt work (stops at 10% on wifi update or 100% on bluetooth and wont complete a factory reset). I have been through customer service and they are sending a replacement, but I am guessing it also wont work. I have been through all the troubleshooting steps, tried multiple internet connections, tried multiple devices etc. If I could just take it back to a store, I would exchange it for a brand that actually works, but so far I am just stuck with this thing. 

I'd even be happy if Fitbit acknowledged that there is some problem they are working to fix and will have it up and running shortly. However, sending me another useless watch isnt really doing anything. I am growing more frustrated by the day as I logged exercises and such for a year to earn this thing, now it gets here and it wont even tell time or anything. 

How can they sell this thing? I read review after review about how great it is; but I clearly missed some reviews. I am frustrated and baffled as to how they sell a product they know doesnt work.

Wish we had options.  Mine is long out of warranty even so I can't even get a non-functioning replacement sent.  Seems Fitbit is either unable or unwilling to admit there is something wrong with the update, so until they fix it -- if they fix it-- we all have nice decorative bracelets we can wear on our wrists next to another company's fitness tracker!
