Can't edit exercises on the new Fitbit app

So disappointed in the latest app update. I used to be able to edit exercises type after syncing to the mobile as luxe only track certain exercise but now I cannot do so..

So how can I track my exercise (such as badminton, Barre class etc) with heartbeat data now?

Greetings,

I received a note from FitBit earlier this week that they are aware of this
issue and are working on a solution. Fingers crossed there is a fix soon.

Let’s all hope they fix it. Thanks!

I appreciate your reply. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that. I’ve been in the community for many years. I would rather not change but many issues with the app is frustrating.

I’m having the same issue regarding the rowing machine! I can’t add it and I can’t edit.

I can add one exercise but I want the heart rate data back more than anything!

Best Answer

I can’t get the heart rate data, which setting do you have it on?

I was told the same thing on 11/25, went back to support today (12/12) to see what the eta is on the fix and they said it’s not a mistake, they just don’t allow you to edit exercise type anymore. Time to find a new tracker…

Thank you, thought I was going mad!

This is so frustrating. What is the point of removing a feature like that? I also went to edit my exercise. I recorded it as a walk because I don't have an "ice skating" setting on my phone, and found that I could no longer change the exercise type.

Best Answer

I just figured out that if you record an activity as a workout, you can edit it on the website. Not on the app, but the website. Smh

Thank you, now the whole watch has a blank screen, and they’ve offered a replacement! They are not built to last I guess!

👎Yeah, that doesn't work.  Did you even test that before you offered that advice?????

The new app doesn’t have the 3 dots to edit exercise type anymore; the old app did. So when Fitbit automatically log into an exercise I cannot update type (ie. from walk to hike). I now have to add a nee exercise manually then delete the one with incorrect exercise type. I don’t like the new app it’s not intuitive

Doesn’t work in the horrible new UI!

Plus, not all of the available exercise types are listed on my Sense 2, eg I can’t choose Basketball when starting an exercise session!

I have the same issue with the app on my iPhone. I can no longer edit the exercise type. The 3 dots are not there to edit. As like others, the pencil only lets me edit start, end, distance. I was actually snow blowing, so walk would have been a closer exercise than it auto selecting Outdoor Bike. I definitely wasn’t moving that fast!

Same. It's a big bummer. Please fix this.

Borrowed from another thread, this worked for me:

"Ok. Here are the instructions:
1. In the Fitbit App click on Exercise days under Activity. It opens a page called Exercise.
2. Click the three dots in the upper right corner.
3. Click on Manage Fitbit Data.
4. Click on “Exercise(Ecercise logs, GPS Tracking)”. Right above the “Delete by Date Range” there is a light teal button that is really easy to overlook! “Review your Data”
5. Press “Review your Data”. That brings up the list of your exercises where you can Categorize Exercise like before.

5 steps now instead of one. Yup. That sucks but at least you can do it.

Thank you.  It works, but jeez, could they make it more complicated?  It used to be so straightforward.

This doesn't work for me on my Android phone. When I click on the three dots on the Exercise page, my choices are "Activity settings" and "Manage data." Under Manage Data my choices are Manage Third Party Apps, Delete Data, and Delete Account. ☹️
