Can't set up my Fitbit Luxe

Just got my Luxe 6/22, charged it but it won't activate. Now my old HR history shows I took 9000+ steps today but I've been on the couch trying to activate my new Luxe for past 2 hours. What gives??

Hi there, @Aneefa. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for sharing the details about the issue with your Fitbit Luxe, I understand where your concern is coming from.

Note that you can't connect multiple devices that use the Fitbit App Gallery to one account. For Fitbit Charge 3, Fitbit Charge 4, Fitbit Ionic, Fitbit Inspire series, Fitbit Luxe, Fitbit Sense, and Fitbit Versa series, only connect one of these devices to your account at a time.

Regarding the setup issue, do you use MobileTrack? If so, please note for Android users they can't use MobileTrack in addition to a Fitbit device. For more information about MobileTrack, see How do I use Fitbit MobileTrack?

If you have MobileTrack now linked to your Fitbit account you'll need to remove it in order to set up the Fitbit Luxe. For instructions, see How do I set up my Fitbit device?

Also, note that MobileTrack could be the one that added more steps to your Inspire HR. Low-power step sensors inside your phone track your steps and send the data to the Fitbit app. We recommend using MobileTrack if you forget your Fitbit device at home.

Note that adding more than one Fitbit device to your account gives you the convenience of switching between devices while still seeing a holistic view of your daily activity on your dashboard.

Fitbit devices have a finely-tuned algorithm for step counting. The algorithm is designed to look for intensity and motion patterns that are most indicative of people walking and running. When working at a desk, cooking, or performing other activities with arm movements, a device on your wrist may add some steps. When you’re doing activities that involve arm movement—such as working or cooking—you often walk a few steps in-between stationary periods as well, so the device tries to give you credit for those steps. For most customers, the number of extra steps added by arm-based movement isn’t significant when compared to your overall stats. For more information, see How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity?

If you want to negate the steps tracked while you were on the couch, see How do I add, edit, or delete Fitbit data and activities?
