I know it does not have built in GPS but does it connect to your phones GPS ?

No mention in the specs but on the product page it says....

"Real-Time Pace and Distance, Connect to your phones GPS to see real-time pace and distance on your wrist during jogs, hikes & bike rides"

These look perfect for my girls but need to know about the GPS first because they keep asking me for a Versa like Mommy and Daddy lol.

Cheers.

@Simonsimps   I saw an product announcement by Fitbit that says it will have connected GPS  Just to be complete -- are your girls at least 13?  They must be 13 and older for their own account to use a Luxe.

Thanks for the reply and clarification. The bands will be linked to our accounts so they won't actually have their own accounts. Not sure that age makes a difference when we do it that way.

@Simonsimps   If you mean that the devices will be linked using the Family Account, you can't put a Luxe on a Family Account.  Only Ace series models can go on a Family Account.  A Luxe must go on an individual account.  In a nutshell, it is all about internet privacy laws.  A child under 13 can't have an individual Fitbit account for the same reason they can't have a Facebook account.  Fitbit individual accounts have a web interface.  Data on a Family Account is protected because it is only on a phone app.
